Judgement Day. Deleted scene. · 6:32am Jul 6th, 2014

Hey, I was polishing the next chapter when I found this scene in my note's page. It doesn't really fit to stay but is not that long to make a one shot out of it as I did with another deleted scene from this fic. So here it is:

"Pride, envy, greed, anger, sloth, lust and gluttony." She read to herself. Coming closer to Envy, she intermediately felt an immense amount of magic. It was strange and savage but at the same time it felt almost familiar, like she had been in the presence of similar magic before but she couldn't put her hoof on it, till the memory of a world ruled by chaos and disharmony assaulted her. 'Discord!' The princess backed away from the statue, invaded by fear as she started to see that those were no ordinary stones. The thought of seven beings with the power of the draconequs running free overwhelmed her mind.

"I see that you've found the sins, I was frightened too when I first saw them." Someone said from the other side of the room, Celestia looked in the direction of the voice to find a young human, no older than twenty, seated in the stone throne at the end of the place. “My name is Billy, Billy Batson. Welcome to the Rock of Eternity, Princess." He rose from his seat to walk next to her. "I'm here to attend you while Shazam is out." She simply stared him, confused. "Any problems with that?"

"Oh no, sorry. Is just that I'm still confused for all of this."

"Don't worry. As I said, I was just as clueless my first time here. You get used to it after a while." He rubbed the back of his head. "So, shall we go to the waiting room? I can explain some things to you while Shazam comes back." He invited her with a gesture to follow him and they walked to a door next to the throne.

***

Billy and Celestia entered to a room decorated like a restaurant. Various tables arranged in a Victorian fashion under the light of a crystal tear lamp. He moved a chair for the Princess that was suspiciously modified for a pony like her as he sat at the other side of the small table. He offered her something to drink , after thinking about it she asked for some simple earl grey tea. Muttering something, he made appear with a thunder a coup of the infusion and a milkshake for him.

"So, any other questions you want to ask? I know for experience that by this point there's still a lot of confusion."

She took a moment to reconsider her thoughts, the internal storm of her mind threatening to tear her sanity apart. But she have been before against the adversity of being defenseless, she learned how to keep her mind straight and to not lose herself in despair. She learned that lesson back when Discord menaced her sister and her ponies.

"Can I trust you?" It wasn't a mean spirited question or an insinuation. It was just her having a doubt and asking for a clarification. Billy took a moment before answering.

"Yes." He said, in a more serious tone that assured her that he was at least honest.

"This being, the Spectre. He's as dangerous as you make him sound?"

"To be honest? I don't think I'm making him enough justice." Celestia moved awkwardly on her seat. "Did Shazam mention that he's not the first to be called the Guardian of Magic?" She remembered how a figure dressed in white and gold defended her in front of the gods. She nodded. "Well, the thing is that before him there was the Wizard. Or at least that was how we used to call him."

"He was very powerful, he made the spells that kept the Sins inside their statues for thousands of years. And when the magic realm needed a champion he chose a champion, that's where Shazam enters but back then he had another name. He was the Captain Marvel." Then he looked away, as the painful memory came back to him. "Then, the Spectre lost his mind. A demon named Eclipso confused him to the point that he believed that magic was the origin of all evil." He took a time to inhale before continuing. "He went on a crusade to destroy magic. The Captain tried to stop him, good God he tried. But at the end he killed all the lords of order and chaos." Closing his eyes. "Even the Wizard."

Celestia just froze at what Billy just told her. If the Wizard was powerful enough to imprison seven versions of Discord and the Spectre killed him, what was the Spectre then? 'And he's going for me now.' She didn't notice but her hooves started to shake. Noticing this, Billy spoke again.

"But we got a chance here." She barely raised her gaze but that was enough for him. "Do you remember the Doc? The one dressed in gold?." The alicorn nodded. "He's on your side too. There's also Highfather, I've seen him sometimes and I truly believe he will be on your side." For a single moment, the light returned to Celestia's world. "And I think you can convince Rama and Zeus too. She can be a little severe but she means well and he's just a great guy." After that, the Princess felt another feeling that she was about to forgot. 'Hope.'

But as fast as it came, it banished. She could escape the judgement of the gods but... 'Do I deserve to be called innocent?'

As if Billy could sense the hope and fear coming from the pony in front of him, he felt deeply sorry for her as noticing how similar and how different were they. "Before we start, I really need to know something. Do you really feel sorry for what happened?"

"For not being able to handle the Disaster or for the Barrier? Or for being unable to convince half of a species to look over their prejudices and fears in order to live?" He was about to reply but she continued. "I AM SORRY." She said, her voice making the room to shake. "I'm just a terrible protector. I tried my best but since the Disaster and then I've been just failing and failing." Tears started to pour from her eyes. "I've always guarded life in my home. I always protected the innocents even if that meant to make sacrifices, to lose my only family." Shutting her eyes thigh. "I even gave up my own freedom for them, for everyone, only to be sure that they would be safe, and why? Just to fail when it counted the most."

Billy rose up and hugged her, stroking her mane trying to console the broken mare. "Shh, it's all right." He remembered the first time he failed too. "We all commit mistakes, it's not your fault if you tried to save them." In his mind there was playing a very similar scene. Only that he was on Celestia's role and the last son of a dead world was consoling him. "Believe me, I know how you feel."

"D-do you?" Between sobs. "Do you know?"

"Yes." He told her a story. A story about a little boy who received the blessings from the gods to fight evil. She listened to him as he related about a society of monsters that only wanted to bring suffer and despair to the world. She found herself cheering for the boy when he fought one of those monsters and felt the pain again when the monster killed an innocent and hurt another before the hero could intervene. And she felt the emotion when a man that could be from the world of tomorrow helped the boy to understand about fail and redemption.

"And what happened to the boy?" She asked. Her previous despair now replaced by hopeful curiosity. Billy took a step back before shouting.

"SHAZAM!" KRAKOOM!

A thunder and a smokescreen covered the young man. When the smoke dissipated he wasn't Billy Batson anymore. In his place, the very Guardian of Magic was standing in front of the Princess. "He grew up to be a protector just as his mentor taught him."

There, please tell me what you think becayse the next chapter may or may not keep some elements from this.
