    Ugh

I bought this really cute skirt yesterday, and I’m really eager to wear it, but I’m scared that if I wear a short skirt out in public, I will provoke a rapist to come and attack me. This overwhelming fear has preventing me from going outside in my new skirt. Our society has come to the point where girls are afraid to wear their own clothing and express themselves in public because if they

I bought this really cute skirt yesterday, and I’m really eager to wear it, but I’m scared that if I wear a short skirt out in public, I will provoke a rapist to come and attack me. This overwhelming fear has preventing me from going outside in my new skirt. Our society has come to the point where girls are afraid to wear their own clothing and express themselves in public because if they do, they are “asking for it”. They are asking to be raped and attacked and hurt because of what they choose to wear to school one day? Because the girl’s skirt is the problem, not the outrageous amount of rapists stalking our street corners? And when people warn girls not to wear their sleeveless tops and short skirts outside, not only are our own boundaries to what we can wear limited, but they’re also practically saying, "No, hunny. Let them rape the other girl instead."

wow....that really sucks....well not sure what to say

okay so, 1, just wear it, 2 if your scared get a man to follow you around, like your friend or something, rapists (especially guys) don't fuck with a girl whos got a man with her, they're either too scared or its on too many witnesses, and the more friends the less the chances of attack
and if you have a phone keep it where you can reach it easily, only dial 911 in an emergency but alert your friends of your concerns, if you see someone you don't know following you dont freak out but as soon as he gets close to you or tries to touch you, politely warn him and if he does touch you or reaches for something call 911 or a good friend, oh and a swift kick to the balls puts any man on his knees begging for mercy. so phone, friends, and a good pair of shoes
oh and im a guy so i know what hurts, just to reassure you

2229174 Yeah actually, I've been paying attention to a few self-defense spews and know the weak areas. It's just that this society is so f-ed up that girls have to know these things in the first place :facehoof:

2229189
yeah i know, im not scared of getting raped im just worried ill get beat up for being gay and a brony
but still, kick to the nuts or the side of the stomach, it hurts like hell

Well, you also can't walk in gay pride clothes in a bad part of the city. And, this fear is in your head. There's no way to tell if there are rapists on every corner or not.

Our society has come to the point where girls are afraid to wear their own clothing and express themselves in public because if they do, they are “asking for it”.

I don't know if there's actually a connection between rapist attacks and percentage of body revealed or something, but advices like that are just common sense. Don't attract unwanted attention if you feel like you might get raped.

Society, you fail. :facehoof:

2229200 That's rape culture for you :ajbemused:

2229248 That's a buzzword. :ajbemused:

Girl, I have been wearing these short shorts and tank top for the entire day, and not ONE man DARED to rape this girl! Although, it was probably because I was running around Bed Bath and Beyond screaming about how delicious everything smelled. I think some people think I'm insane now....

Wear tits ... What the fuck autocorrect. I meant... Wear tights. Or something. Not just a short skirt. And don't go to the Wet and Wild water park in Florida, you will get raped, possibly because of the ironic name.

2229342

Holy cheese, I did that once. And they kicked me out for, and I quote: "getting high from the scented bath soaps"

Yeah. I still have no idea. ... It's all kinda hazy... I don't think I was wearing a skirt though. I only did that once. Or twice. Maybe. I have worn a kilt to school though, that was funny.

2230794 And just when I just you couldn't get any more Scottish...

2232585

... Sheep are evil.

And I'm from America.

2234129 Aww... too bad. America's pretty dingy :unsuresweetie:

... I am assuming you Scots have little in the way of self defense, correct?
Consider that the UK has heavy restrictions on what one may have on one's person as self defense, even to the point of imprisoning a man who used a gun to defend his family from a man who was about to kill one of his own kin, I sympathize with you.

My advice? Stick it out with a friend. Stay in crowded areas.

And if a basterd so much as tries to touch you the wrong way.

Make them pay. Preferably so that they won't be able to have children.

Such degenerates do not deserve the light of day in my opinion.
