A question for you, my dear readers · 5:05pm Jun 12th, 2014
I've got a new story idea in my head, involving Luna and the mane six having a slumber party, and there are two ways I can take it.
One way would be a short sweet piece of work, little actual conflict and assured happiness to follow within the first few chapters.
The other way would be a more serious piece of work, with more conflict and tension, with some doubt to when the good times return.
I'm asking you to let me know which of the two you wish to see.
I'm a biased opinion, but I have to say the good, harmless fluff.
Always, ALWAYS go with conflict driven work.
It won't be entirely harmless, but that's one vote for the first option

Conflict creates drama. Drama creates interest. Interest is what holds the human attention span for more than two minutes.
Drama also creates an emotional investment. You feel attachment to a character because you have visualised yourself in their predicament.
2201669 Makes perfect sense and for what I have planned, that really swings me into the serious story line
I'm kinda in the boat for a good episode-esque, short and sweet story. But maybe that's because I'm currently trying to finish two stories of my own before posting anything new.
I hope you choose to write the story that you feel most compelled to write. I do like epics, but chapter updates can be a pain for both sides.
Write on!
2202666 Ok, I will keep that in mind.
I could also do both, I realized
2202669 Now that's just crazy-talk!
Yes, if there aren't too many over-lapping elements...that could be interesting... But...
If the slumber party is to be held in Castle Anthrax...that would be perilous!
2202678 True, very true.
Oh no, I'm not cruel. A dick that will go for embarrassing scenes, yes. A person that created a horrific character that everyone, my co-author and myself included, hated, yes. But doing something mean for the sake of meanness
2202705 Um... I slipped in a "Search for the Holy Grail" Monty Python reference...
Castle Anthrax was the castle the was occupied completely by 18-25 year-old girls.
Perhaps the largest single gender slumber party, but a great peril for a chaste knight on a holy quest...
Go google it or something...
2202723 Ah, derp.
Do you wish to see what character I am talking about?
2202727 Okay, I'm game!
2202728 I hope so
