Dream of Another Shore talk · 11:14pm Jun 2nd, 2014
So it's done and dusted, all finished with after a long promise for it to come months in advance to the start. Dream of Another Shore, the second story in the Orphan Scootaloo stories (a third has a rough outline ready to properly plan and write should I feel it would be a good idea and not pushing it).
But when I begun planning out and writing Dream of Another Shore, it was actually far different to how the story ended up being published here on FIMFiction. The story you have all read was actually a newer outline and plot for the story, because the original wasn't making much sense, and was actually nearing nine chapters in length.
Below, I'll detail some things that were in the original plan for Dream of Another Shore to give you all an idea of how it could have gone, and give you all the option to read the original chapters if you so wish it.
-Dream of Another Shore was to be both literal and physical, utilising the 'life island' which Scootaloo saw in her near-death state in the story Hearths Warming Eve for Scootaloo.
-Death being funny but playing a role.
-Princess Luna appearing at least three times.
-The original idea was for Scootaloo to be able to dream walk, leading eventually to the story's original planned ending.
-Very emotional scene with Scootaloo and Snowdrops, but not for the reason you'd expect having read the used storyline.
-The original version would have also have revealed who spoke to Scootaloo on the 'life island' in Hearths Warming Eve for Scootaloo.
By no means is the original version of the story a full written one, but if people wish to also read the original planned version, I could finish it off as well and add it to Dream of Another Shore as bonus chapters. But only if there is enough interest to make me plan this. So let me know what you think of the possibility of reading the version I had originally planned in the comments (or throw me a private message, up to you).
As for what I plan to do next? I intend to stick with Scootaloo for now, but I'll leave a one word hint to my next fic project: Tree.
