Love Marriage and Scootaloo, last chapter and reflection

Good luck to the happy couple, and thank you all for sticking through the past year and a month.

So, this story...lets talk about it.

How did this all get started? Well, lets go back to before I was a brony. See, I wasn't always actually into writing or caring for Yuri releated stories like I am now. Heck, I wasn't even into Miriru and Haruka all that much and was quite content with making them cousins and pairing HAruka off with someone else. Also I was only into it for the sex...yeah, I was a pig once. Then, when I found out the real version of Sailor Moon, I got a little better in appreciating a homosexual relationship, but I would still avoid anything else like the plauge.

Fast forward to about 3 years ago, and I started getting into ponies. Now, you have to understand, I still wasn't as into mane six shipping as I am now, and I sure as heck wasn't into Flutterdash. A small part of me, only saw sexual and nothing else. It wasn't until a certain little fanfic made me see the light and become much more into homosexual shipping than then. That fic is...Happily Ever After. This is a fic I heartily recondmend, fun, enjoyable, and heart warming all around. It was this that got me used to homosexual shipping beyond Haruka and Michiru. Thanks to this fic, I could see it as just another romance story, just another way of telling a love story between a couple.

But, this isn't what led me to Flutterdash.

No, that wont come until...Silent Ponyville 2.

It was thanks to this fic that I fell in love with the couple.

I mean, I can interpit their relationship in so many ways, really close friends and as a couple that have fallen in love with each other because of their closeness. Either way it is adorable. Heck, I even have this thing for a person being a protector for someone that they love (IT comes from my Kenshin fanboyism). and, look Dash fit the bill. I also fell in love with how they could support and care for one another, as both friends and lovers. Maybe others wont see it, but that is how I feel.

So, fast forward to just last year and I was nearing my anniversary. I wanted to do something special for all this. I had no idea what it is, but it was going to be something big. Well, I figured, I like writing romance scenes and I like to write comedy, but I mainly intersperse those within my epic adventures and short stories. Could I write both compently, and write those to where people would enjoy them? HAve I progressed that far?

Well, since I had begun to fall in love with Flutterdash, I figured, "why not? I neveer tried writing a gay romantic couple before and this is my OTP in Pony." I've been subtle with ti before, why not make it obivious. But there needed to be more to it. Well, why not make it a Scootalove story since, in case you have not noticed from my vast majority of fics, sibling love is my thing. Ok, but what else?

Well, I am a fan of the Nostalga Critic and the Nostalgia chick, and I do watch romantic comedies a lot. I know of the tropes I love and I know of the ones I hate...Why not do a story where I parody some of them and make a little statement about them as well.

So, BOOM! The basic framework of the story was born and I was off to do what I always do. Rough draft it all in my head, bed, and bathtub. Go through the entire story at least once, then write the first chapter. I published it without an editor, something I used to do now I can't do it, and saw what happened. And I was surpised by the love that this little fic had. It has become my second most popular story, is my most commented, and is one of the ones I have become very proud of. I enjoyed working on this through the long year and I feel like its helped me become better as a writer.

So, here are some more facts that I didn't put into the notes.

-I had most of the rough draft up to the last chapter before I published it.

-Esteem is from the Immortal Game, and the Little Pip gag was not added until I became a fan of FOE

- Rainbow Dash was going to have twin brothers, but they were axed.

-One I was surprised by, besides the love I got for this thing, was how some people could see hidden shipping that I did not intend. Discord's sigh was meant to be just one of reflection, not of Dislestia (though it did give me an idea), Rarijacj was not a thing, and neither was Scootabloom. The main background romances were Bulk/Cloudchaser, Soarinfire, and Twilight and her books.

-I was nervous mentioning Flash Sentry, knowing his hate. But, I decided to bite the bullet and use my favorite little gag character. He can be such a whimp in my hands.

-Sunny Days, Scootaloo's mom, was going to be only in the beginning and that was it. It wasn't until a comment mentioned about her as a character that I added more to her and gave her more of a history.

-Story Teller is my personal OC. He is the owner of the Ponyville Treebary memorial bookstore. Swift Arrow, as fans of some of my other stories will note, is usually Scootalloo's father. But in this case, he was just a guard that wanted to be there.

- Chip N Dale's appearence is based off of Chip N Dale from the rescue rangers. They even have the same outfits. I wanted to put in a reference to all three of the meanings of ChipNDale (The furniture salesmen, the dancers, and the chipmunks)

-The wedding chapter didn't have a rough draft or fully written until the day the chapter was made. I made that one up as I went along.

-This story is now my longest completed work, beating out Friendship is Eternal

- The last joke in the chapter was one of the first ones I made.

I can't promise that the next thing I'll write will be a romantic or silly. But I can promise I will put my all into it like I do everyfic I have written. But even if I don't see you guys there, thank you for being there for the past year.
