    Submission to Equestria Daily

Let me begin by saying that I respect the work of the Equestria Daily Prereaders. Their decisions may sometimes seem arbitrary and their rules and expectations obscure and confusing, but that's inevitable with such a large number of prereaders having to wade through the doubtlessly huge number of submissions. Dealing with such a flood can not be easy.

That said, after I tried to submit The Sisters' Coronet to Equestria Daily, I received the rejection I had expected on for two reasons:
1. They do not post collections: This qualifies as one of those times they come of as capricious and arbitrary, since a crown of sonnets is hardly a simple collection (though I did use that word in the description), and more importantly they had posted two poetry collections before. However, this point didn't even have to be brought up once you take into account:
2. It does not meet the word count requirement: Now, this argument I can actually get behind. If they make an exception, the set an unfortunate precedent and open the floodgates. I can understand them not making any exceptions to avoid that, and they probably don't have the time to look at any submissions not meeting that requirement. It's just a shame that if I had butchered the tone of the piece by appending notes by Twilight (or for complete obliteration of any sadness left in the piece, Trixie), I could have passed that threshold and might have actually been considered. Knowing that they probably didn't even look at it because of that stings, but I can deal with it, and bear no ill will towards them. They're just doing their (unpaid) jobs.

I had never hoped for a full post in the first place. The most I had hoped for was an honorable mention in the Nightly Roundup.
Now, since that didn't work out to promote my work, I need to look for other places to spread it. Any suggestions are welcome.

Hopefully, I'll have a preview bit of my next project to share, soon.

Speaking as one of the pre-readers, Thank you for understanding. I am sorry we didn't accept your work as I did rather enjoy it. Poetry isn't entirely my cup of tea so I didn't adore it s much as others perhaps, but I did enjoy it.

I believe there are some poetry focused groups on here and would suggest seeking them out.
