    The Quest Next Chapter

Guys, I've written myself into a corner today, but I've made great progress. Once I know how our heroes get out of this predicament, the chapter will be nearly ready. Oh yeah, surprise! I'm not dead! :twilightsheepish:

    9/11 Rememberance

The following passage is the first-hand account of the events that took place immediately after the 11th of September, 2001 written by a Navy Hospital Corpsman, specialized as a Psychiatric Technician:

Friday [14 September] turned out to be a tough day. We all got to NNMC
[National Naval Medical Center at Bethesda, Maryland] early in the morning

    Additions to Dog Days

Hey guys, I'm posting this, because I just added a scene to the latest chapter of The Quest. I didn't have a full chapter for you, but I did decide I left that one unfinished. I unpublished and republished the chapter after I made the additions, but I have no idea if that hit anyone's feed. Nevertheless, I'm working on the next chapter right now, and I'm hoping this extra scene will get you back

    Vacation

Hey, guys. I just wanted to give you all an update. I'm still working on Fallen Angel and editing two other stories right now, but my progress has been slowed by my internet acting up recently. I can't effectively write on my phone. (Trust me, I've tried.) Now my internet is back, but I took leave around my birthday/mother's death day to get away and relax a little. I went to see my dad.

Fallen Angel WIP (sorry for the delay...)

Hey guys, so life has really been kicking me in the ass lately, but I promise you I'm still working on the Painkiller Series. In fact, I just wrote some on Sunday, and I'm working on it again today between tasks at work. I write best at my desk at work for some reason. I haven't the faintest clue why. :derpyderp2:

Sneak Peek: Twixie Chapter 3! · 12:48pm May 5th, 2014

What do you guys think? :duck:

The wind carried with it a strange feeling as it whipped through Trixie's mane; a dark, forboding feeling that was in stark contrast to the beautiful and vibrant hues of purple the twilight cast upon the sky. Trixie had no eyes for it, staring intently at the castle up ahead in the distance, unwavering in her conviction. Maybe it was the showmare in her, but she refused to cry any more than she already had. She took on a stoic attitude in her attempt to trick herself out of the wallowing sadness and self pity she'd fallen so deeply into early on. The only problem was that now she felt empty...

Trixie gasped as a small claw met her hoof on the chariot's railing. She turned her head to see Spike smiling sadly back at her. He gave a nod. "It's ok, Trixie," The young dragon promised, "No one will fault you for being upset."

Trixie sniffled as the tears welled up in her eyes. She threw herself at the dragon, locking him in a powerful hug and burying her muzzle into his shoulder. The tears ran down his scales and dropped to the bottom of the chariot. For his part, Spike merely returned the hug and ran a claw down his friend's mane. All that escaped his lips were gentle coos of, "It's ok...It'll be ok."

He was trying to believe that himself.

.....

He worried about his sister.

It wasn't but a half hour more before they began their descent toward the Canterlot Castle Courtyard and a couple more minutes before they landed softly upon the cobblestone. Trixie, having never truly flown before, immediately jumped off the chariot and did her best to melt into the earth below. "Never...have I been so happy to lie in dirt..."

Spike laughed and rolled his eyes. "Get up, you ham. we've got to go see the princesses."

Before Trixie even had chance to respond, a cyan blur zoomed past them. "Took you long enough!" Rainbow exclaimed. "I've been waiting here for like...forever!"

"R-Rainbow Dash?" Trixie rose up off the ground and raised a brow at the pegasus before her. "What are you doing here? It was to be me and Spike alone on this journey."

Rainbow Dash blew raspberries in response. "Yeah, as if!" Rainbow rolled her eyes. "What kind of friend would I be if I let one of my best friends go on a mission to find my other best friend alone?" Rainbow rushed between the two of them and threw a wing over each of their backs defiantly. "You're not getting rid of me, so we might as well get going."

Trixie grumbled inaudibly, but Spike hoof bumped Rainbow. "I'm sure she wouldn't have it any other way..."

I'll let you know what I think of this as soon as I read the first two chapters... which means I should probably read the two earlier stories in the series. Oh look, two and a half more stories to add to my Read Later list! That makes 490. :facehoof: I'll catch up eventually, I swear.

2079188 If it makes you feel any better, chapter 2 of this one is completely standalone, so if you just wanted to read that for now, you could. It's a Discord history/ Pony origin story (chapter), and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

Since the series is about twenty-five thousand words so far, it shouldn't take me long to read the whole thing. I'll tack it to the end of my ever-growing List of Stories Adda Agreed to Look Over. There are only about ten thousand words left in front of yours. I'll tackle the list when I get back home in about half an hour.

2079202 You're going to read 35,000 words just like that??? *eye twitch* I wish I had time on my hands like that. :rainbowderp:

2079204
Today is my day off, and since I'm used to working opening shifts and all of my friends work daylight I've got a few hours to work with. That should be plenty of time

2079244 Ah, I see said the blind man. :derpytongue2: Well, I hope you enjoy them. :pinkiehappy: Please ignore the fact that I originally used color fonts for thoughts. I need to go back and do some re-writing. :twilightblush:

2079252 I'm fairly certain I only did that through the first one. :twilightsheepish: It was my second story, after all. I wasn't nearly as good as I am now back then, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.

looks like it's gonna be awesome lightningbass94, can't wait 'til we get the full thing :pinkiehappy:

by the way, remember the conversation we had a few days ago on one of famouslastwords' posts about spike? It's funny, right after that I reread your twixie story, from start to the most recent chapter, cause I was like 'I swear spike and Trixie didn't get on at first but then eventually warmed up to each other'. so anyway reread it and like three chapters into the first one they're already friends, shows just how good my memory is, huh? :rainbowlaugh:

2079293 Well, they didn't, but when she sincerely apologized, he calmed down and warmed up to her over the week between chapters 1-2 and 3. I just sorta'...skipped their conflict. Maybe I'll go back and write a one-off about that week. :moustache:

I could just imagine her waking up to see him inches from her face. He whispers with a glare that could kill, "I hate you so much," and slowly backs out the door, leaving her to wonder what the buck had just happened. :rainbowlaugh: Yes, I shall do this thing. :rainbowwild:

2079302 hey compared to most twixie fics, spike liking Trixie after a week is approaching rainboom speeds :rainbowlaugh:

the one off about the week does sound hilarious though, I look forward to it :pinkiehappy:

2079363 I like him to be a reasonable fellow, and no relationship with Twilight would ever work if Spike didn't approve. He would make their lives a living hell. :moustache: I feel like too many Twixie stories ignore him altogether. That's no bueno. He's too big a part of Twi's life to completely leave out.

2079373 I wholeheartedly agree with all of that mate, at least you did a good job, not that my swiss cheese brain could remember :rainbowlaugh:

2079381 Honestly, it's been so long that I went back and reread my own stories before I started on this one. :rainbowderp:

I like where this is heading. :pinkiehappy: The only thing that caught me off-guard about this teaser was Trixie's extreme reaction to landing when she seemed perfectly fine in mid-flight. That's not enough to put me off, though! I'll be eagerly awaiting the rest of the chapter.

2080078 Ok. Maybe I'll tone that down or cut it out. Thank you. Does this mean you've already read the rest? :rainbowderp:

2080171
Oh, yeah. All of it. You can tell it was pretty early in your career, but that's nothing a good rewrite can't fix! Hay, you could always bring in an editor.

I am the editor.

I do edit for a LOT of people, and I feel it would be silly and redundant to have an editor of my own unless they were a sort of protege...

2080506
That was in case you wanted it done but were too busy to do it yourself, not 'your writing is bad and you should feel bad'! :rainbowlaugh: I get that. Me, I'm self-conscious enough that I brought in three prereaders for 'True Love' even though I do some editing on the side.

2080599 I don't consider editing on the side. I consider myself a better editor than author, and therefore take a bit of pride in editing my own works. I will, eventually, get un-busy enough to rewrite it. Lol.
