What is up with this sudden influx of stories revolving around humans dressed as characters and getting teleported to Equestria? Everywhere I look there's a new one, it's the whole peaches thing all over again. I wouldn't mind so much but it was never a very imaginative or interesting concept to begin with, and what's more is the authors could easily have written the same stories but have the actual characters go to Equestria, at least then it wouldn't be completely obvious it was just another self insert where the author makes themselves totally badass by taking on the appearance and abilities of character vastly more interesting and likeable than them.

Trust me this fandom is no different embracing fads that just plain suck ass. There is gonna be the exception of stories that actully pull it off and make a great story. I don't mind self inserts unless you can see yourself as a character with flaws just like the characters of the show. I'm not different as I planning to insert my OC that represent me on my own stories.
2061817 I agree, I wouldn't be so judgemental of self inserts or even human in equestria fics in general if the main characters were in general more well rounded and relateable. A prime example of where this was most definitely not the case.
2061859 I have that on my read later list and holy crap I didn't notice how much controversy this one is going. The idea and description made it sound interesting but the comments all of the flame wars it gotten on weather its good or bad is getting so out of hand.
