It's a romance story!
-First, let me point a great big finger at Crowne Prince, the artist of that amazing cover art! You probably know her from her YouTube channel--(s)he's the animator behind Pony High. If you don't... well, now you do, and your life is now complete!
-Second, this is actually a fully-fleshed-out version of a one-shot I wrote about Goldengrape sitting alone in a diner, which was in turn a story based on a scene in "Twilight Time" that Crowne Prince happened to notice. Have you clicked that link yet? Good. Or not good, if you haven't.
-"EOL"/Equestria Online is both a tribute to the fallen project and a pony pun of "AOL"/America Online.
-"Regional Captain" (RC) Lyra was slightly inspired by Celestia Sleeps In and Xenophilia (which to this day I cannot believe I read the whole thing), but also because I just like Lyra.

Oh, and Equestria Online was largely reformed into Legends of Equestria... though they are reluctant to mention it directly. If you were a fan of that, you should definitely check out its successor! They have open weekends occasionally, one just recently passed! Link
