    Letter of Destiny, advanced concept

Recently, a friend of mine became fascinated with my book series Maledictum Insania and read all of them through pretty quickly. He became particularly curious what my alternative storyline would have been if I had ended up choosing the ending Letter of Destiny from the first book as the base for the rest of the story. Eventually, he got me thinking about this series again which I considered done

    The end is coming

After about 7 years of writing, it is finally happening. The Maledictum Insania series is almost completed.
I am on the last few chapters of the final book. Very soon, this biggest story I have ever written will be concluded.
It is true what they say. You look towards the end of your major projects with both a laughing and a crying eye.

    Obsidian's Theme Songs

What is this? A new blog post! Oh my gosh! Jokes aside, I wasn't planning to make another blog post ever again. But perhaps there is still someone out there who enjoys reading this.

    Guess I finally managed it...

I noticed I am no longer getting comments and hardly any views on new chapters at all. I guess I finally managed to bore all my fans away due to my slow update speed. I am eternally sorry for this. My books never were all that successful to begin with and now I seem to have reached the point where I'm not even writing for anyone but my two pre-readers anymore.

MI Beta, Post 7 · 4:39pm Apr 22nd, 2014

No drama this time. Let's go straight to the topic.

Reapers die without being reaped
This one I struggled with for a long time. Until near the end of MI1, I kept on making hints that reapers don't actually need to be reaped with a reaper scythe in order to die once they fulfilled their duty. This mostly sprouted out of a very early statement of Obsidian Shards; that when a reaper dies, massive changes in the flow of destiny can occur.

Why was this idea scrapped?
For the longest time, I wasn't very certain what I should decide on for the reapers. Giving them the exclusive right to die without being reaped made little sense when absolutely everything else had to, according to how Maledictum Insania worked. Furthermore, if I would have forced this idea through until the end, it might have resulted in a plot hole, as in that there would have been other, easier ways for Obsidian to die so it would be avoided that he turns into a red reaper, making the promise he forced Twilight into completely pointless. I finally came to the conclusion that it would only make the most sense if I stood consistent with the rules of Maledictum Insania, which also turned out to make the curse even more powerful and devastating. There is nothing that is an exception, not even the reapers.

Now, I would like to speak out my thanks to all my loyal readers. Due to the more than a month long complete shutdown of all my stories and concepts, I feared many would get fed up with waiting. I am pleased to see that quite a few still eagerly await the next chapters. Without you guys, I would be writing for nothing. So thanks a lot and stay tuned. More is sure to come.

Shouldnt we thank you for writing your story in the first place ??

I suppose we should thank each other, because without readers and fans i would just waste my time and effort and without my story, you wouldnt have something to be engaged in and appreciate.

I think the reaper curse has been a major plot role so far in the series. I don't think the MI serious would had been as good without it. :moustache:

I'll be looking forward to the story conclusion. I was originally afraid of reading MI1 due to its large size at first. But to me, it has been worth it.

I'm surprised I've been the only person commenting here though except the first blog. :fluttershysad:

Which is all the more why I appreciate to see you commenting everytime.

Honestly, I feel like I should be thanking you for writing these amazing stories! Sorry I haven't been commenting lately, I haven't been very active on FIMFiction with the end of the semester quickly approaching and the fact that I'm looking for a part time job (unsuccessfully). I have been able to read the recent chapters of Cupcake Factory and these MI Beta posts whenever a small opportunity came up.
