This might bite me in the rear later... · 3:56am Apr 3rd, 2014
So uh... I heard that Applejack's parents are dead, according to Word of God.
And I inserted somewhere in the story 'bout Apple Bloom's parents during part 2 of the trial I think.
this might not end well. >_<
I usually tend to get a little fearful when I stray just a LITTLE from the Show's canon, since well, people tend to be a stickler for those things. I could take the easy way out and tack on an AU tag, buuuuuuuuuut... I might not have as much fun writing this fic.
Personally, it's kinda challenging, and very rewarding that I'm succeeding, even just a little with this Dangan Ronpa crossover.
So yeaaaaaah... see my dilemma here? >_<
I hear ya. Its something that fans seem to go fucking nuts over. But I do wonder if Applebloom in this story will mention the parents death here. Would be interesting.

Ya know... I never confirmed them as alive.
I'M SAFE! WOO HOO! Thanks for reminding me!

Eh, sometimes some people miss the little details as they're passively watching a show or movie. Sometimes even with all the canon information they have at their disposal when writing stories, they get backfired when the show portrays something that contradicts the fanfic writer's plot. I'm sure this kind of thing happens NUMEROUS times, but does that mean the story should stop there? Of course not. The story is just taking a different direction with what the canon provided up to that point, making it an AU type of story, and that's okay. I think as long as you know what you're doing with what you have in your disposal, it shouldn't be that big of a deal really. Also, to confirm with AJ's parents death, one of the staff posted on twitter to confirm that fact. I'm not sure who it was, maybe Meghan McCarthy, but I think that alone should tell a lot about AJ's character in her development.
Despite the show's canon, the fate of her parents in this fic doesn't bother me at all. It's the fate of Applebloom herself that I'm worried about!
