    What I have been doing!

I thought I would put a new post up regarding what I have been doing over the last few months.

The last time I pointed out that I was doing some pre-reading, that has continued, and been expanded upon!

For those even MORE curious (And many shoutouts!)

I have been quietly working on a different aspect of the writing realm since I did that guest chapter a few months back.

    For those who are curious

I have finally started to show some small work in the realm of writing here on FimFiction. Granted it's not a whole lot, and it was self-edited, but its a start and hopefully for those who take the time to peek at it they might enjoy it.

Hello · 1:33am Mar 23rd, 2014

I guess I should put something here, for those wanting to at least listen and maybe learn a bit about myself and why I am here at the least.

For those who looked they probably noticed the brief bio I left when I made my account, for those who didn't, read on.

For the last 5 years (roughly December '08) I was quite heavily involved in the 'Furry' realm and more or less a good deal of what that entailed, yet a couple months back I wasn't feeling quite..accomplished, or particularly happy with the way things have been going...not to mention a large scale amount of drama in aforementioned realm that kept interrupting and in most cases taking most everyone's attention from other things as well. Granted there were a good deal of talented artists and the like, but with the way everything had been going, it had all started to become repetitive and worse unappealing.

Then a certain friend of mine (you know who you are BTW) snagged my attention with a most unusual manner, a few songs, some of them fan-made, and a certain fan-series called 'Rainbow Dash Presents', thinking about these particular things made me wonder about what else there was, and with nothing better to do one day, I decided to start watching a few of the episodes, from the beginning (because I cant jump into something half-way and expect myself to understand it at all). As I watched and started to better understand My Little Pony and the various aspects, I found myself starting to enjoy it. it was simple, but strong and wasn't just mindless drivel like some things have become these days on television. it probably helped that I was also a fan of another product form the Hub, Transformers Prime. I originally found it amusing when I learned that Prime had managed to badly overshoot its intended audience and more or less hit most every group worth hitting....which led me to look again at My Little Pony...and I find that it had done more or less the same thing, missing its mark and hitting everything instead.

Thinking over these facts, I did something I hadn't done in years, I deliberately kept my messenger programs off and did some serious thinking about how things have been going for myself up till then. For a month I kept myself deliberately offline and thinking things over, and it finally occurred to me...I just wasn't happy wit the way things 'were'. With that in mind, I cut short a lot of things, and focused on the thing that started my thinking. Without a basis to reference, i searched one of the furry sites i was a member of and looked deliberately for some stories. I ran across several, and with most fanfiction categories, you have to weed out the poorly made from the true gems of the group...two stories stood out as worthwhile, and the rest wasn't even worth mentioning. Those particular stories happened to be The Lost Element, and Saving the Ponies. Both stories I found were well-written and the plots were engaging and worth every minute I spent reading them..in both of their cases, more than once.

In the end a decision had been reached. I dropped more or less everything I had associated with the furry realm, only keeping a few things, like the e-mail address and messenger accounts, which I can easily re-purpose to my new needs.

In the weeks following the changes I made I have found a wealth of great stories, several of which I have read more than once, while searching for more, and I haven't regretted a thing. Granted I am a bit slow on learning some of the site functions that are here, but I am learning at my own pace.

To conclude this rather long-winded and probably hazardous to navigate first 'blog' post (or is it a journal?). That is a little bit about me, where I came from, and maybe some hints at what I am looking to accomplish, possibly more if I am fortunate, and I don't let timidity get the better of me.

Thank-you to those who took the time to read it over.

ONE OF US! ONE OF US!
Glad you got over your initial (strange) aversion to MLP. We totally need to make our Elder Scrolls Online Guild MLP themed.

Or maybe not. We might want to include non-brony friends in the future. :trollestia:

Might as well theme it, to help set ourselves apart from the rest, besides, your clearly the one in charge of this grouping after-all. Just give me a shout when its time to download the client and stuff that i paid for.

You haven't already downloaded the client? I'll send you a copy of the downloader. No reason to wait until the game has launched to download all 50 gbs of the game when you can get 30 something of them now.

I could always swing by with one of my externals and just copy down everything to make life simpler
