Gratitude · 2:44am May 17th, 2012
I've been wondering about how many lives this show must have saved. I can just imagine how this show could be a window of happiness into the dark hearts of so many. If someone is thinking about doing it, MLPFIM just might be the one thing that gives them hope in the world, a light to remind them that this world is not all cruelty and misery. I will not go as far as to say this is true for me, but this show gave me new perspective of the world. It taught me that there are things in the world to be happy for. It taught me that a gloomy attitude doesn't solve anything. It taught me that there is hope in the world; there will always be someone out there that cares, and that most people aren't as cold as they may initially appear. So, what I'm really getting at is: thank you. Thank you to the producers, the writers, the voice actors, the directors, the composers, and of course, the fans. When I say this, I say it for all of us that have taken something important from this show. You guys have done a good thing, and for as long as ponies are remembered. there will be those that are grateful.
(Sorry for being cheesy. I just had to say these things.)
Eeyup ,the show has made me too seeing the world in a different perspective. My gloomy days are always more brighter and now I tend to enjoy more the nature and other things. The reasons you pointed out are the main reasons why there are so many bronys. Equestria is a world that many people wish that Earth would be equal to it. Me included.
And dat pic of the Sonic Rainboom is the most epicest of all the pics of the Sonic Rainboom. Just wonderful.
I briefly addressed something related in a blog post last month in which I explained why I watch cartoons for little girls. I'll save you the following of a link by giving the money quote:
I might ask this as a followup question, however: What exactly has happened, and what sort of condition are we, or our culture, in, that people even need to make recourse to a children's cartoon to find messages of hope or moral lessons on decent behavior?
You really have a way with words. Your stories are beautiful. Even your BLOG POSTS are beautiful, which is no easy feat.

It is my hope that nobody solely relies on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic for moral advice, although there will always be someone out there to prove me wrong. The point I'm trying to make is that we live in an increasingly cynical world, and not without reason. I agree with the general idea of your quote. But this show is also a departure from what many are taught to believe about society. Perhaps only in a fantasy world can these ideals exist. That's where much of the appeal for this show comes from anyways. Whether or not this translates to any effects on the real world is hard to say. So, in the end, the lessons this show demonstrates may not carry through, but the optimistic mood certainly does. On a small scale, this might just be enough.

If the optimistic mood is only a mood, can it be enough?
