    Letter of Destiny, advanced concept

Recently, a friend of mine became fascinated with my book series Maledictum Insania and read all of them through pretty quickly. He became particularly curious what my alternative storyline would have been if I had ended up choosing the ending Letter of Destiny from the first book as the base for the rest of the story. Eventually, he got me thinking about this series again which I considered done

    The end is coming

After about 7 years of writing, it is finally happening. The Maledictum Insania series is almost completed.
I am on the last few chapters of the final book. Very soon, this biggest story I have ever written will be concluded.
It is true what they say. You look towards the end of your major projects with both a laughing and a crying eye.

    Obsidian's Theme Songs

What is this? A new blog post! Oh my gosh! Jokes aside, I wasn't planning to make another blog post ever again. But perhaps there is still someone out there who enjoys reading this.

    Guess I finally managed it...

I noticed I am no longer getting comments and hardly any views on new chapters at all. I guess I finally managed to bore all my fans away due to my slow update speed. I am eternally sorry for this. My books never were all that successful to begin with and now I seem to have reached the point where I'm not even writing for anyone but my two pre-readers anymore.

MI Beta, Post 2 · 10:12pm Mar 5th, 2014

A week has passed, so I think its high time I present the next scrapped idea for the MI universe.
You know, I really toyed around a lot with the idea of not only having demons versus ponies, but also throw in angels in some form.
Two of those ideas made it to the closer selection, but both didnt make it. And since both are rather short and very underdeveloped ideas, I will present both.

The Fake Angel
Originally, I planned to introduce a new type of demon with the appearance of a pony angel with fake radiant glow. This demon was meant to be the one stalking the CMC in Everfree Forest during Nightmare Night in MI1.

Why was this idea scrapped?
It was planned to be a one-time-only appearance and I wasn't really sure how to solve it. Let it kill one of the CMC or school kids? Let it get defeated in battle? Quite honestly, it felt kinda cheesy all along. Anyway, I was close to putting it in when I had an even better idea that actually blended in my universe much better: Instead of a once only appearance of a demon type, I decided to toss in a mighty unique one. This is where I came to the conclusion to feature Slendermane and portray him as a demon. Until today, I am convinced that this was a much better choice.

The Angel Stone
It was supposed to be an extremely rare gemstone that would have allowed Rarity to use arcane magic, just like Twilight. I can't talk about this topic without hinting on another scrapped idea, so ill just scratch it shortly. At one point, I wanted to display Obsidian as deeply appreciative of the kindness the mane six showed him, to the point where he gifted them some of his rarest, most powerful or most valueable belongings. Among these was supposed to be an Angel Stone, which Obsidian would have gifted to Rarity.

Why was this idea scrapped?
I feared that if I made Rarity capable of wielding arcane magic, even just once, would make her overpowered and seriously throw the roles and powers of the group out of blanace. It was just out of place for Rarity's role in the MI books. Further, I could just never come up with a moment that would justify the use of such a valueable and mighty gem. It was completely unclear if she would use it in MI1 already or keep it until MI2 or even 3. With all these aspects speaking against it, I decided to scrap the concept.

Alright, that's it. Let me know what you think. I would appreciate it.

Oh hai thar bby :rainbowkiss:

Question, unless I completely forgotten on how it happened, how did Applebloom fall into curse and be taken under the wing of Pinkmena? Also, I may have asked this before, but would nightmare moon return in her form in the final book?

Having Rarity weilding arcane magic wouldve been okay, if it was limit to extremely dangerous situations. As in she couldn't wield it unless the situation turn to the point where everyone's lives would be in danger.

Another note, Have you ever got around into drawing Alicorn Blueblood?

1899261 Applebloom fell to madness due to her poor treatment in youth as well as her desperation over not being able to get her cutie mark. She wasnt necessarily insane at that point, but Pinkamena made her go over the edge.

I wont answer your question about nightmare moon. You are asking for spoilers, sry.

Also, I never said I would draw alicorn blueblood. I cant draw, like, at all. I said I wished to see that myself.

I gotta agree that keeping the roles balanced about Rarity not having that angel stone was a safe and best path to take. Also, even though I'm not a fan of the Slendermane character, I think he works better than the scraped Fake Angel also.

I can't really think of any questions. But I'll be looking forward to the next beta.

Let me ask you something then.
What are your thoughts on slendermane in MI?

Well... I think the idea of the demon is good. Like I say, I'm not really fan of the character. But thinking about it, he sort of reminds me of Mane-iac out of the Power Ponies episode. Maybe, those two could be somehow related in your last book. Even though she's inside of a functional magic book, maybe the demons could somehow get her out.

That would make absolutely no sense.
As you said yourself, Slendermane is an actual figure in my books, but Mane-iac is a comic book villain. Also, why would the demons need someone whos so utterly crazy and only focused on bringing doomsday via bad mane?
