Some people don't want to be saved. Because saving means changing. And changing is always harder than staying the same. It takes courage to face yourself in the mirror and look beyond the reflection. To find the you that you should have been. The you that got derailed by cruel childhood events. Events that took your life's natural trajectory and twisted it. Changing it into something unimaginable ... or even incredible ... giving you the courage to embrace your birthright, your destiny, and finally realize... that you are Batman.

The point of this quote is simple.

Embrace your potential, meaning set aside what happened to you in the past and being what you think you should have turned into instead of what you think you are, and, contextually speaking, this quote makes sense, having taken place after a fight with the vigilante, Jason Todd who would not change to fix his problems and his mistakes.

Today, we live in a world where you can fix everything with a pill and a quick trip to the doctor. We live in a world that's sensitive and tolerant, but some might say that it's over tolerant. While we're busy patting someone on the back and telling them they're not a failure and that they're fine, what if they're not?

What if it was high time they looked themselves in the mirror and said 'no, I'm not happy with who I am. It's time I stepped up my game and took the bull by the horns.'

This is an anti-depression group, but tonight, I want you to look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself: are you happy with yourself?

Do you think you can do better?

Or am I just fine?

Will you be an unchanging lump looking for the next person to say 'hey buddy, it's okay'?

Or will you take up a mantle and say...

I am Batman, and this is my life.

So go ahead and be the Batman you were born to be.
