Oh Good Lord. · 8:39am Feb 15th, 2014
So lately I've been trying to finish chapter 8 of Chronicles.
The key word being try.
You see, I've had to take everything that I've written in the chapter so far past the first part and shove it out the window due to how STUPID it all is. The situation I've set up Griffin and Twilight in is so delicate that it is of the utmost importance that I take care to maneuver accordingly around the many possible plot holes that I could drive into. The very first concept I had of this chapter 3 years ago is now moot, because I didn't think far enough down the line and now I'm having problems linking the characters and the plot together. My back-up plan didn't work either, because as I've said, it didn't make sense. So now, I've got a third plan, but I have no idea which direction it is coming from and I have absolutely no sense on how to approach the subject! It's absolute madness. I won't be getting it done anytime soon.
But on the bright side, I've finished chapter 9, part 1!
...
...Yes, I know. I did skip ahead and write something a chapter in advance. Why? Well, first of all, it helps me with my writer's block. Stimulating my creative juices is one of the best things I can do right now if I want to finish chapter 8 as fast as possible. Second, it was fun. Third, I've seen plenty of authors releasing several chapters in one day, which makes me come to the conclusion that they too write chapters in advance from time to time! So I'm not the only one that's doing this.
Last thing: I'll be editing Chronicles on the go starting from the prologue, and I'll be posting blog posts every time I make changes. Stay tuned if you're interested in that kind of thing.
