Comet's 2014 To-Do list
On Chronicles:
#1: Clean up 'empty flash' scenes. This means:
-- Painting-Splatter scene in prologue
-- Playful-Flame scene in chapter 1
...Will all be removed. I have wayyy too many moments of these scenes. When I originally wrote the outline for the story, they weren't in there. There weren't originally planned. However, as I was writing I thought it would add more drama and tension. But because I used TWO in TWO back-to-back chapters, they lost their power. I have to use them sparingly to set up for a future scene. Therefore, they have to go.
#2: Clean up chapter 1. This means calming down Griffin so he's not ranting like a 4channer smoking poison joke.
#3: Examine chapter 2. This means taking a look at the interactions between the mane 6 and Griffin and smoothing out the experience. I wrote chapter 2 TWO years ago and it shows. I need to fix it up one way or another.
#4: Write sub-plot between chapters. These will explain what is happening in Canterlot Castle and why the royal sisters are stuck NOT helping Ponyville with their huge problem
These goals are listed in importance from first to last. The first goal is something I'm definitely doing, but the rest are subject to time, effort and willpower, especially #4. Still figuring that out.
