First of all let me apologize for the last chapter. That was dismal and you all deserve better. It has been a rough few weeks for me and after working on that chapter for so long and rewriting several scenes I decided it was done and posted it.
I'm finally settling in after moving out and getting a job...then getting called in for another. Yes on top of being an official subway sandwich artist I'm also a ramp worker at my local airport. This will provide me with additional money as well as time to think of what to do with the story.
I've been working on short stories for various contests because as much as I love this I also love writing for the potential for recognition, glory, and payment.
A list of delays in the most recent chapter.
1) Having to do some minor rewriting on request of Stigs. I wrote something about him that was personal and he requested I remove it. As such I'm having to rewrite several scenes to accommodate. (No I'm not complaining if you read this Stigs and terribly sorry if it sounds so).
2) Inspiration. I've been trying to but between stress from dealing with room mates (the time between December and February will forever be chronicled as the cold war. They were fighting over the thermostat). The stupendously big gaming campaign (6-12 players) I help run/organize/write for is coming to its inevitable climactic battle when the players are about to put a pc on the throne and then use their resources to wage an unrivaled war of conquest upon the galaxy.
3) General life. I've been giving some honest though on joining the USMC. I wanted to do this a few years ago just out of high school but chickened out when my dad lost his job (it gave me a reasonable out). Now as Scott is leaving in the summer for it I'm starting to think what I'd accomplish with 13 weeks of sitting on my butt vs 13 weeks at Parris Island (Yes I know there's the four year commitment with 4 years of active reserves). It's one of those things that is sitting down and making me think.
