You need an editor · 12:20am Jan 23rd, 2014
If you look back through the comments on Rainbow Dash and her Marvelous Mechanical Wings, you'll be able to see no fewer than five instances of people telling me I need an editor, and every so often they'll site a few individual reasons why one is needed.
For those I thank you.
But telling me I need to get an editor is all well and good. I have one now and he's looking over my old chapters to see what needs fixing. That said,
"Why?"
Now I understand that there will be continuity issues and little bit's of grammatical fuckery that will slip my notice, but I would like someone to take a look at my story and give me a straight up answer. Is it several small one off issues that I just missed in my writing? Or is it often repeated fallacies and consistent errors in my process?
Just an answer to that question will help me greatly in writing a better story for your enjoyment. I ask you to please take a moment and let me know.
also, critique and possible "better if"s would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time good readers.

When ever I suggest to someone to get a editor it's because I like their work and feel that it truly should be the best it can be. Often the best way of doing that is if they surround themselves with people that want to help and know how to help them e.g editors and proofreaders. Having a good support group can turn a decant story into an amazing one.
