Attention

As you probably do not know, I was rejected from EQD with Cutie Mark Abandonment. They gave me a list of things to fix. The story will be going On Hiatus until I've gotten them all. As a consolation prize, I will be coming out with some other stories which I'm not planning to submit to EQD.

Don't stress out over EqD. They reject people for a lot of arbitrary reasons. Here's someone's blog entry with several great examples.

I enjoy the story, others enjoy the story, and you don't need to dance to EqD's tune. Put it on hiatus if that's what you feel you need, but EqD should be pretty far down your list of priorities. In fact, here's a suggested list:

1. Write for yourself.
2. Write for people who have faved the story (when continuing an ongoing story).
3. Write for your followers.
4. Write for people that are in the groups that include your story.
5. Write for FIMFiction users in general.
6. Write for EqD, keeping in mind that their pre-readers have been known to turn down stories just because a writer's headcanon contradicts their own.

The rejection was as follows:

-Telly language
-Misused commas
-Glossing over too many important steps that get us here from canon
-Irrelevant detail

The longer review was mostly grammar errors and the prereader didn't think there was enough conflict. Understandable, because this is supposed to be a fairly long story and I haven't gotten to the really good part yet.
