Pinkie Pie goes to her first Apple Family Reunion, and she invites the Cakes and the Pies.
Pinkie and her sisters go on a road trip to find answers from the Pie side of the family.
The Pies meet the Apples.
That's three potential stories that I've gotten out of this episode, and that's not counting specifics and variations. I'm not sure I've ever seen such a blatant invitation from DHX for fanfic writers to just go to town (maybe Wonderbolts Academy, but that has more to do with world building than the writers leaving stuff to the imagination of the audience). I don't think EQD even needs to post an episode-based story prompt this week. The stories will still be written without it; I can guarantee that.
This is certainly not a bad thing, as anything that sparks my creativity automatically earns points in my book. However, I have to wonder if this was a deliberate action on the writers' part. I dunno, the fact that this is a new writer and the forced Twililicious joke makes me suspicious. Or maybe I'm just being weird. That's always a possibility.
Metool the writers don't even try to make ficfodder. Dude I have seen more fics and pics done about that damn scepter than the Tree of Harmony.
1707055 Yeah, I understand that the writers can make ficfodder (first time I heard that term, by the way) without even trying. I just have a feeling that this episode was trying to do that.
