Personally, I couldn't be arsed when buying gifts and everything. I don't have many friends that close. However I do have a bunch of friends that also don't give a damn about gifts or tradition, so usually they just take the rest of us out to eat for the night or whatever. Some cheapo food parlor with greasy food, but it's genuinely fun.
