    Don't... be... dead...

...I may not have fallen off a tall building, but I might as well have with the silence.

Too much has happened in the span of time I've left you all and I'm very sorry. I don't really have an excuse or reason behind my disappearance aside from the fact that life gets in the way of living sometimes.

I know you all hate me

    I KNOW, I'M AWFUL

Seriously though, I've had a lot going on in my life and CiaFoM took a major shift to the backburner.
I think I'll finish it, but the updates will not be very often or regular.

I'm sorry, I hate it when I'm reading a fic and this happens but... I have more important things in my life than ponies at the moment.

I am currently looking for housing.
It is not because I am ready either, so unless I win the lottery... I'm very nervous, because I only make minimum wage and I have no idea what I'm doing.

I feel like crying every time I think about it. I hope it all works out. Ideally I'd have a roommate but that is not the case. I will keep you updated but I feel like a blob. A useless blob that can't even do the thing she loves (write) without feeling shitty.

My boyfriend is unable to move out with me, but he wired me some money to help with food/bills/whatever. I am really scared. Any Bronies able to share some tips? Thinking of getting a little fish so I have some company when I live alone.

the first thing you need to do is Relax, try to find an appartment close to a collage, and offer up cheap rent for a roomie, that should help a lot if you get a roomie.
secound is move in with a firend untill you have a apartment and make sure you ask around the city, there might be cheap housing there

Also, don't be afraid to take the time to look around. Every apartment will have different rules and requirements, so make sure to find a place that you can really live with. The idea of looking near a college isn't a bad one if you need a roommate, just make sure you look up crime rates in the area. Unfortunately, a lot of complexes near colleges have pretty high crime. They also usually have higher rent. Another thing you might want to look for is that some apartments have government subsidies, such as Section 8, which can help if you don't make enough to cover the full rent of the apartment.

Basically just think calmly, take the time to do a bit of research, and you'll be fine. Looking for a new place to live is always stressful, especially if it's not under ideal circumstances, but you can do it.

If you're getting a single fish I would recommend a Beta fish, they can survive in surprisingly small tanks and live for years on end. Just don't try putting them with other beta fish of the same gender. That and never get an Angel fish, those tend to try to escape after punting whatever other fish seem to be in the tank to death.

As for the apartments, I'm sure you're going to find someplace nice eventually, just a matter of time and effort. I wish you luck! :fluttershysad:

Thanks guys. I went to the bank to setup a chequeing account, and I didn't have the needed paperwork. I am hoping to hear back from our tax person soon so I can get it done. I'm getting some cheques sent to my parents house too...
I'm trying to relax, but I really wanted to get some more money put away.

One of the places I emailed already got a tenant, so I'm just waiting to hear back from the other place. I ended up cancelling my birthday and asking friends if they could pitch in $20 for pots and pans.

I was thinking of a betta too, and found some stuff on craigslist for a tank, net, etc. Just have to scrub the hell out of em before I put a fishie in.

Seems like you got some awesome advice already. I'm just putting this here to say I wish you luck. I'm kinda in the same boat as well so I know how it is. Good luck!

Well, I'd suggest to have all of your paper-work on hand when you check out a place in your apartment/room search. Things you might need:

- Previous years tax forms
- Pay-stubs for 2-3 months
- Employer info (most places want proof of employment)
- Rent for first month and security deposit (have your checkbook handy)
- Two valid forms of ID

You also want to make sure the place isn't a dump. How does the management treat you when you interact with them? If they aren't cooperative now, they probably won't be when your a tenant either. I'd suggest getting a checklist of things and going over it. Fill out a list for each place you visit with the name of the place, the basic info (address, amenities, etc), and check off any signs of neglect you can see. You might want to ask your parents and friends to help with this, but I have a basic form I used if you want it. I can send it in a PM.

Anyways, what's most important is to remain calm. I know this can sound redundant, but I know the feeling of anxiety you get when your searching for a new place to live. It can be terrible! Especially when your on a time-constraint. All in all, I wish you the best of luck. :pinkiehappy::heart:
