Future Story Ideas · 5:24am Dec 16th, 2013

Since Eyes Wide Shut has been done for a while, I've been looking at other story ideas. While I am well aware of all of the ongoing stories I have, I can't stop spawning plot bunnies (like many authors I know).

So I thought I'd share my ideas with you, and see what you thought. The top three stories in the To Be Written Vault are:

Gear Kings

Set in a future where society is divided by two entirely different tiers of technology: that which is driven by magic and that which is driven by steam, electricity, and natural resources, a small group of inventors strive to create an amicable fusion of the two in time to appease both nations before they're overtaken by a threat neither can stop alone.

10 Percent

Street Styles has a great deal of promise as an up-and-coming rap artist. He's got a good flow, rhythm, and strong command of the spoken word. His brother, Funk Runner, is a walking soundboard and can move like nopony's business. He's a nice enough guy when he bothers to open his mouth. And Lounge Lyrist is a lyricist and writer with a lot of promise and little patience. Their major problem? Living in Canterlot, where the musical scene not so much leans towards the classical as it does throw itself with great force and purpose. Can this "alternative" musical troupe find a hoofhold to launch themselves into the starlight, or does the aristocracy get the final say?

Safety Off

Ponies tell us all the time that crime doesn't pay. Sure, we listened to 'em. Then we drove off in the $75,000 dollar car I never paid a dime for, ate at a five-star restaurant with somepony else's credit card, and I slept with a bunch of mares I didn't know while my partner sold over half a million dollars in guns to somepony we met yesterday. Then we woke up, and heard somepony else say it again.

So you go ahead and tell us that crime doesn't pay.

And I'll tell you what we did last Thursday night. You can even quote me to the cops.

I'd love to hear any thoughts, considerations, or preferences as to what you'd like to read next.

Last one sounds good. The other two.... eehhh, I guess they'd be okay, but that's my opinion.

Good?
That last one doesn't sound good, it sounds like an insane hurricane of bullshit and ridiculous shenanigans happening over a rollercoaster of awesome!
That's not "good", that's positively... adequate.

I'd go with Gear Kings, it sounds really kewl.

Didn't you already ask us this?

Either way, the last two sound good. I'd read them.

I kind of did. 10 Percent was in the last one, but the other two are new and are ones I'm considering much more seriously.

Crime Doesn't Pay sounds fairly intriguing, but rather i voted for it or not would depend entirely on the main characters.

I want Ten Percent!

Either that, or Safey Off. Either works
