    Blog 12.5: I'm Alive

Hello again fellow pony fans. I don't have a lot of time, so I'm gonna make this short and sweet. I was planning to make an blog containing news and updates and all that neat stuff on the 10th(approximately one year after I became an official member on this site), but since I'm going on a family trip until then, I've decided to hold off on it for a day or two. I'm just making this blog now to let

    Computer Issues

As the result of trying to download a Minecraft mod, I have ended up with a notorious piece of crapware known as GorillaPrice. It's replacing files, opening random tabs, and slowing my laptop down like you wont believe. In fact, I cant even watch a youtube video without something going wrong. To make matters worse, whoever made GorillaPrice sure knew their shit, as I can't remove it no matter

So, as some of you may know, a huge winter storm just hit parts of Texas, which is where I happen to be. As the storm rolled in, I though to myself, "this ought to be a nice three or four day weekend." well, I was completely fucking wrong. My Friday was alright, I went outside into the ice(didn't get any snow), chilled out on my laptop, lit a nice warm fire, and beat my high score on Giant Boulder of Death(now 554,683). Now Saturday is when shit hit the fan. So I woke up at 8:30 to pick up my stepdads grandmother from the airport. Turns out, she wasn't supposed to get to the airport till 1:00, so I was woken up for nothing. When we finally rolled out towards the airport, I learned that Texans and ice do not mix.

For some reason, the Texan government decided not to get sand, salt, or snowplows. All of the roads were absolutely terrible. The road to the airport was incredibly fucked up, with ice covering the entire road. So we get to the airport and park in an underground garage to wait for the flight to land, and when it is almost there, my bro and step-dad go to get the latters grandmother and sis. So, turns out, the flight was delayed for an hour and a half, so I was in a parking lot, waiting with no entertainment other than my phone, which was slowly dying. To make matters worse, I had forgotten my charger.

After an incredibly long and boring stretch of time, the people we were picking up arrived. We were taking them to my grandmothers house(stepdads side), and the ride was supposed to take about an hour. Well, that would have been accurate under normal conditions. due to the ice, the drive was painfully slow. At times, we were moving so slow that I could have walked along side my van. In total, the drive took four and a half hours. At some places on the road, the ice was so thick and smooth that you could have put some goals across from each other and have a perfect hockey rink. So after a horrifying slip-and-slide on a long stretch of road, we finally arrived at my destination. Unfortunately, My mother and stepfather decided that there was no way in hell they were going back in those conditions, so we had to stay there. So I stayed there with no laptop, headphones, change of clothes, or charger...

Sunday was not too bad. I ended up stuck at the bottom of a huge hill for half an hour because the ice was too slippery to climb back up. When my family was heading home, I reached into my jacket pocket, and lo-and-behold, I had lost my phone in the icy slush.... I lost everything. My music. My Angry Birds. My GBOD. My Contacts. Everything! Oh, I forgot to mention, the government finally decided to get some snow-plows, but they were really pathetic. They were just bulldozers with spiked points on the bucket, and they took two to three passes over a spot to clear away all the ice. All in all, it wasn't too good of a weekend. I just made this a blog because it's been a while since my last blog post, plus I needed to rant about it somewhere. Also, I needed an excuse to explain some stuff about Kuma in Equestria

Now for the part about Kuma In Equestria

Okay, so I'm having a lot of problems writing the story for two main reasons.

Reason One: Writers Block and Boredom. I'm not the kind of person who likes writing the same thing for long periods of time. Also, what I do write is really underdeveloped and half-assed. I actually deleted three whole rough drafts without letting Dirty bit(my proofreader) check them out because they were so terrible. And while I write, I would literally sit for over ten minutes without typing a single thing. While I have the main storyline and whatnot of the story laid out, it's kinda hard to type. Its one of those things that you know what you want to write, but when you get to doing it, your mind goes blank.

Reason Two: Kuma. My decision to use Kuma s the main character, while original, was kind of a shot in the dark. As most of you may know, Kuma has not been shown in the anime for prolonged periods of time, and he also does not talk much at all. These factors make it really difficult to use Kuma as a character, since I need to get his dialogue as correct as possible. Plus, most of his talking scenes show him speaking in a really sophisticated manner, which is hard to make into dialogue. Also, I have to cope with his size, as it is very difficult to put a 22"6 giant into a world occupied by 3-4 foot tall ponies.

Because of these reasons, coped with the fact that I'm working on posting a new story soon, I've decided to take a break from Kuma in Equestria. I'm certainly not quitting it, but I'm giving myself some time to get my act together. However, when the story gets rolling again, I'm almost positive that you are all going to love it. That's all I had to say on that matter, so see ya'll later.

:derpyderp2: Damn...:ajsleepy: I'm sorry to hear about the first part. As for the next part, you're not alone when it comes to Writer's Block (Boredom's a different story :derpytongue2:) and typing along chapters while simultaneously feeling hesitant.

Sometimes, you just need a little more time to yourself and also make time reading other fics to try and reignite that literary spark dwelling within you :raritystarry:

Perhaps I could look into your new story later on once I notice it's been posted :raritywink:

DQ... That's what I like about Texas!
I love that commercial.

I would say that you're lucky that you're in a part of Texas that actually gets snow, but judging from the total shitstorm you just went through, it's probably a good thing that all I get is dry 40 degree weather. :rainbowderp:

I learned that Texans and ice do not mix.

Now that right right there is an unfair generalization, good sir. :raritywink: :ajsmug:

22 foot giant, huh? I dunno if the idea has been used before, but having a giant in Equestria during that episode where Spike's all grown up... Needless to say, epic giant battle ensues.
