Pope took money to keep a woman's name out of a satire then wrote a piece so that she could still be recognized anyhow. Chatterton killed himself. Byron was accused of incest. Do you still want to a writer - and if so, why?
Sometimes you have to go on when you don't feel like it, and sometimes you're doing good work when it feels like all you're managing is to shovel shit from a sitting position.
I ask myself if my success has been worth the cost. And believe me, the toll has been high and there have been times when the weight was unbearable. I’ve sacrificed a lot, and have lost a lot more, and there have been a higher abundance of tears than there have been laughs.
In terms of that top part, can say I somewhat in a degree relate to the fact I go against the norm... the norm doesn't like this.
