Heart vs. Mind: Royal Wedding Edition · 5:07pm Apr 28th, 2012
(SCENE: One week ago. A sofa in front of a magnificent entertainment center (consisting of... well, an okay-sized TV and not much else) located in a nondescript house in the middle of nowhere.)
(BOOKISH DELIGHT Watches the Royal Wedding; credits roll. After said credits, BOOKISH'S MIND and BOOKISH'S HEART discuss what they've just seen.)
Heart: Awww! That was such a wonderful two-parter!
Mind: Agreed. They essentially crammed a Disney movie into half its usual runtime. A couple of minor flaws, but overall, I quite approve.
Heart: And wow, did you expect for us to enjoy Shining Armor and Princess Cadance this much?
Mind: Absolutely not. I didn't think I'd hate them, but...
Heart: Exactly! We should buy their toys. Even if Cadance doesn't say anything... you know... good.
Mind: (sigh) Fine. I'll start saving more money. Ugh, as if Astro Switches and Ranger Keys weren't killing our budget enough. Still, as much as I enjoyed our two newcomers, you could really tell they were crowbared into canon. Fairly well, I'd say, but still.
Heart: I suppose. I really like them but I almost feel bad doing so since they literally just got here. Though Twilight did flash back to the first episode during her song... hey! Idea!
Mind: Oh no.
Heart: If we feel that way, then maybe we should fill in the blanks ourselves! Connect some dots, and give ourselves some resolution for those two, and Twilight! It'll be fun!
Mind: What? No way! We don't do that anymore!
Heart: ...what, fun?
Mind: ...NO, blank-filling! Don't you remember the-
Heart: I swear if the next words out of your mouth are "Grand Galloping Gala..."
Mind: But it's true! So much work was rendered null and void in the last season finale! We don't usually work with ongoing TV shows for exactly this reason!
Heart: Look, we've learned lessons since then, and Jossing is a fact of life--suck it up! Besides, we're entitled a little personal fanon every once in a while! Doesn't Rainbow Dash's house still move all over the place for us?
Mind: But that's more a running gag, and-
Heart: Look. I know you want to do this as much as I do. And it'll be a fun break. Just this once?
Mind: (sigh) Fine. I'll join in--only to make sure it's up to snuff. And so help me, if this fails, you answer to me.
Heart: Suuuuuuure I will. ^_^
...and here we are. Hope you enjoy!
And if you think it does its job well, then... hey, why not spread the word? Do it for Twilie.

I do not mind improvised canon at all. Even if it doesn't fit perfectly, it's still fun. Like that fic Petriculture.
