Friends, romans, countrymen, lend me your ears.
As I write this I have just reached a major milestone in my fraudulent war epic Manifest Destiny, I have written to the half-way mark. Mind you, my editor hasn't touched it, and certainly will not for the rest of the week at a minimum, but I have written it, an additional 22,000 words added to what I have so far.
The reason that this is important is because this opens up possibilities for me, and I want your input on what I should do now. So without further ado, the options.
Option one. Put Manifest Destiny on hiatus and in the vein of Monty Python say “now for something completely different”
Option two, continue writing Manifest Destiny.
The “something completely different" options are as follows.
A tie in to manifest destiny with a focus on zepplins.
A spaghetti western with Braeburn that pays homage to basically every western ever
A conversion bureau story that is thematically similar to Alfonso Cuaron’s ‘children of men’ with a bit of world ending on top
A short stupid thing about the cutie mark crusaders getting more different CMC, in this case a Cruiser MK VI Crusader.
All of these save for the tie in and the stupid one will be around as long as Manifest Destiny, in this case meaning 150,000 words plus. So there we go. Tell me what you think.
