    Chapter 18 news.

It's actually very complete! Just needs art for it. Now, I had received word from paper pony around March that he was eager to participate again. I showed him the chapter, and he read it. He was pleased and enthusiastic!

A big thank you to all those who've read First Pony View. · 8:27am Apr 23rd, 2012

That milestone has now been crossed, and I wanted to celebrate it. A little.
I'm very glad my meager story has attracted so many, and I hope it continues to attract more. I doubt I would've ever put so much effort into writing it if I didn't have the support from all of you. Yes, I thank even those who commented not on the story, but merely increased the view count. Their opinions may be forever untold, but I sincerely hope they enjoyed what they read. My dearest wish is to please you, the audience, with every chapter I publish. I know the chapters don't come often and regularly, but on the other hand, I very much hope they are of great quality. I have something unique in my hands now, and I'd hate myself for all of eternity if I managed to wreck the story and alienate its fans.

Thank you Sebiale for the invaluable help and dedication of time and energy to edit a collection of fragmented sentences into a cohesive story. My loyalty to you is undying.

Paper pony, you do some muffin (hello Chatoyance) awesome art and I can't thank you enough for it!

Axiom. Thanks for the long analytical posts you delighted me with. I hope you continue to profess your intellect, and your animation of the protagonist is pure d'awww.

Midnight Shadow. I'd like to thank you for being an awesome chap, both here and in person. I wish to see you again some day.

Chatoyance. You're a notable member of the Fimfiction community and I thank you for that and for being a very admirable author.

Knighty and Co. Great thanks for creating this most brilliant site. Where would our fan fics be if it weren't for you guys?

Thanks to Hasbro, Lauren Faust, the staff who created and produced My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the voice actors and everyone else I can't remember now.

Last but not least, a big, sincere thank you to each and everyone of you who have and will read First Pony View!

Now, a teensy-weensy spoiler: the main character of First Pony View has a name, and it will be unveiled in chapter eight. Until then, speculate as much as you wish :)

P.S Sorry for the image missing the tail. Try not to see what can not be not seen :P

First Pony View is a unique story - there is literally nothing else quite like it. It is a powerful concept, and filled with potential. It is easy to care about, and to be engaged in. And the illustrations have been a simply wonderful addition, I have to say.

You have every right to be proud, you have created something special. I, for one, look forward to each new chapter.

Thank you kindly . As much I hate to admit it, many times envied your provess when or after I've read your stories. That emotion is a testament on how much I respect you. That one day, if it's feasible, I may surpass my present status of a sufficently skilled amateur and master the fine art of being a novelist. Perhaps I know it can't happen, and seeing the works of others turns my dejection into a less worthy feeling. I read other fan fics, and I see elements I should've thought about, and then I berate myself for forgetting or being outright blind to them. Other times, however, I'm on the other side of the fence when I read a story that completely ignores details I considered impossible to dismiss, or then handles them poorly.
I think in First Pony View, there has come a shift in the narration that I think may be quite fascinating, maybe even unprecedented. As I've put more of my mind into the story, my heart has jumped onboard too. Prior to the protagonist's reality being shattered, it was my mind that wrote his behavior. For the seventh chapter, I had to permit my heart to depict his torment in a believable light. Unlike many stories involving a human turning into a pony, nothing has told him why he has become a female pony. The seventh chapter is a poignant example of that. He begged for help and answers, and nothing came in turn. No deity, no regal sister, nothing.
He was utterly alone. Forsaken.

When his reality fell apart at the end of chapter six, I had to replicate his state of mind into the seventh's narration, and that was a very tough challenge. To him, his excruciating horror was literally palpable, and the closest I could come up with was a skin-tight, unbreakable confinement comparable to claustrophobia. To be firmly locked in something that he can't remove himself from and never allows him to be in peace, constantly reminding of his new flesh, no matter how hard he tries to forget it. That's how I had to think — to feel — now that I wrote and will write of his predicament. His every move, sound, breath and heartbeat must tell him of what he is now, and the only mitigating factor is time itself. Eventually, he will tolerate, then accept his new existence, but what he will endure and suffer before that will ask a lot from me and from himself. At the same time, I have to expand the world around him. It's a balance of the protagonist reconciliating with a new body, looking for answers, and exploring a familiar but noticeably different world from a literally new perspective.

Oh, seems I got off on a tangent, and now I've forgotten the point I tried to make. Sorry :twilightblush:.

First Pony View is a brilliantly conceived and astoundingly written story. I'd be willing to wait years between chapters of such a good quality story.

You should try sending this to EqD and see if it passes.
I kinda like that you don't update this regularly, and knowing it is a huge relief. Take an example of Anthropology: it updates weekly and people will start to worry about it, if it has couple weeks of break.
Writing in foreign language and forming such deep psycological story must be very tough, and in some points very difficult. I have always admired people who can just write these great stories from top of their heads, just because I sucked and hated writing in school.
Some people master the art of music, some writing and some drawing. I just draw, thats the only thing I'm good at.
Quote I happened to remember (sorry for fin.) Rakasta sitä mitä teet ja tunne, että sillä on merkitystä.

Damn this story is facinating fella, is one of the depest I've ever seen around here so you better be kepping that high standard for the next chapters, now, putting that aside, hurry the buck up :flutterrage: that i wanna keep reading i damn it

I hope it's not that long of a wait for the next chapter, but I admire your patience nonetheless.

Now with some support for it coming, I may have to send EqD mail, even if it would bounce right back. Have to think about it for a while.
I know the updates are sporadic, but don't fret, I keep on writing because I enjoy this creativity. Yes, it's in a foreign language that incessantly challenges me, but I don't allow that to hinder me from producing a now-ascertained unique story. Actually, this story makes me think of Through The Eyes of Another Pony because both had started as self-inserts. TTEoAP has a guy going to Equestria as a pony and FPV has a guy waking up as a pony in his own home, but then deselfifying kicked in (yeah, I made up that word; deal with it). One is (was?) a comedic adventure, the second's a psychological journey. I guess I've found something I wish to dedicate myself to, just like you may find true delight in drawing.
Anyhow, here's a rough translation of that Finnish passage: Love that what you do, and feel that it's of value.

Oh, if I only could write a fully finished and flawless chapter in a single day. To keep the high standard up, however, I can't rush myself. It takes a lot of intense thinking to construct and cover so many aspects, such as the MC's feelings, actions and thoughts, the things and individuals around him and how they react to and affect his conduct, plus now I have to start to flesh out the world he's in. I mean, I can't just take our lovely planet and plant ponies there without a vision on how such beings would live in a such world.
But I'm glad you enjoy FPV . If all goes well, then chapter eight will be quite awesome. I mean, we'll finally learn his name! Doesn't that excite you? I bet it does :pinkiehappy:!

hmmmm dont worry about the rush, I just wanna it soon, now that sounds like some news!

It appears I forgot to hit the 'watch' button earlier.
Anyway, good luck!

Midnight Shadow. I'd like to thank you for being an awesome chap, both here and in person. I wish to see you again some day.

You mean to say that you've met Midnight Shadow? In real life?

By the way, the reason I'm commenting on this blog post is because it only just occurred to me that I haven't read (much less commented on) most of your blogs. Expect more on different ones. It's like a field trip (which, as far as I can remember, I've never, ever said before)!
