So, I know you're all patiently waiting for the next installment of At home on the range. And for that I cannot thank you enough. But know this.
The upcoming chapter...IS THE LAST CHAP!
Thats right, barring a potential alternate ending, this is the last chap before Rise of the Rainbow (working title, and the sequel to AHOTR)
Mac and RD are an established item, and rainbows chance to finally join the wonderbolts presents itself! Will she be able to cope with the newfound fame, money, and adoration that comes with joining the elite flying squadron? and what happens when life throws a curveball her way, that neither Mac nor RD was expecting? All that and more after this fic is done!

sorry to say this, but haven't we seen this idea before? except with Applejack instead of Mac? or I'm remembering a story with a very similar theme

well has been a great ride i must say and i cant wait not only for the update i cant wait for Rise of the Rainbow since you announced that i been wondering what kind of new adventures and problems they will have

82093 it is absolutely possible. With the amount of fics/art/comics this fandom produces, I wouldn't be surprised if someone beat me to this particular punch. However! I'd like to think I can come up with something to separate myself from the pack.
82106 it will most likely be the longest chap yet, depending on how intense I want the final action scenes to be.

82107 no wait, I remember the set up for the story I was remembering now, years in the future, Applejack and Rainbow are married and have adopted a foal and Rainbow's career as a wonderbolt is recking havoc on the marriage, or something like that
It's the sequel to your sequel if it was Applejack instead of Mac
but yes knowing this fandom, someone has probably a story very similar to your sequel, except it's Applejack instead of Mac
