Impact of Season 4 on story

Hey to those following my "Chaotic Neutral" story!
It's been revealed by now that Discord is going to be in Season 4 and by the sounds of it, probably one of the early episodes. This is great but it also means I have to think about how my story which is still being written will work in relation to Season 4.

Basically, once the season hits its best to handle it this way. The story itself is vague as to its placement. if nothing happens in the early episodes that shakes up continuity as to where Twilight Sparkle is now that she's an alicorn and how her life works, just assume the story takes place after these events. If Discord's character in the new episodes has drastically changed after his reformed then assume the Discord in my story is just a personal interpretation of how he'd act after reformation based on how he behaved before that episode and based on those characteristics and not the newer ones.

If nothing happens to shake things up too much I might take events and personality growth of the canon show into account as I write. However if the show does too many new things, especially twilight who most definitely is an alicorn in my story yet still living in Ponyville, then assume my story is perhaps a separate idea of what might happen after she becomes an Alicorn. I hesitate to use the word "AU" because I like to write as close to canon as possible.

However, I'm not going to try and mold the story to fit in the upcoming season if it's impractical as I've already got it plotted out in not only what will happen, but also in the character arcs and how all the ponies and Discord will interact as things move along.
