Random Idea #83: Sword vs Gun fights (in visual media)

I had some shower thoughts after watching some various fight shows, specifically about choreography. So, I assume we’re all broadly familiar with sword fights.

Note that “gun” and “sword” here are simply shorthand for any ranged, projectile weapon and any melee weapon, punches and kicks included.

Idea #82: A random review of Cyberformula: Road to the Infinity 1 to 4

The audience for this game outside of Japan is probably in the low hundreds, but after binging the games for the past two weeks, I needed some way to organize my thoughts.

First of all, what is Cyberformula?

    Sonic Franchise
Seriously, how the hell did I forget about the franchise memetically associated with hundreds of fan OCs?
    1) Setting: Mobius and other various locales seem to imply a fairly Earth like world [1]
    2) Inhabitants: waves hand in the vague direction of sonic OCs [1]

Random Idea #81: Complaining about Scale in third person POV games

In most games at human-scale, and even car scale to a certain extent, the 3rd POV doesn’t greatly change how large things appear to be. Your avatar is still going to look small when standing next to a large truck. The game “It Takes Two” is a great example of this, since the characters are shrunk to the size of dolls and tossed into the insides of machines and snowglobes. A gear the size of a

The Draconequus Experiment · 3:57am Oct 23rd, 2013

Journal Entry, ~10 years ago, before Luna and Discord.

I've recently discovered a incomplete, forbidden spell during my stint as a biological science teacher. Well, the main reason it was forbidden is because its incomplete. Casting the spell on inanimate objects such as oranges and rocks are fine, its when cast on animate, sentient creatures where it gets its nasty reputation. I secretly made a copy during the last year of my teaching career and wanted to do some investigating on my own.

The basics: This spell is a complex fusion spell. Not the type Princess Celestia uses, the type where two objects are combined together into one form.
For example, if you cast this spell onto an apple and an orange, you get a fusion of both fruits. Results often vary, but no matter the texture or its skin, it will always taste like apple/orange juice. After this point, no attempt at separating the two objects has ever been successful. At best, you can keep one object 90% in one piece, while the other will be a mushy mess. If I tried separating the said apple/orange, I may end up with a heavily bruised apple and orange innards.

Now, at this stage, it is perfectly fine at making funny tasting juices or storing herbal medicine, but I have about 30 or 40 years with nothing better to do. Imagine the possibilities: we may be able to walk a mile in some one else's shoes, then thank the host for the ride. Maybe it can reduce the tensions between certain species with our minds lay bare, yet not broken. So many conflicts are caused by misunderstandings.

I must leave now. My adoptive son Gamma is calling for me. The little dog sure has an appetite for such a small body. A pity. He is intensely curious, and wishes to learn. I wonder if I can teach him some of this. Maybe someday, he will be able to overcome his weakness in body with the soundness of mind, and provide a different perspective for an old codger like me.
