    Update on... things

First of all I'm going to apologize to those who wish to participate in the TwiShy Project. I'm not cancelling it, I just won't be able to work on it for a while, school work, a bit of writer's block and general laziness are all holding me back from starting on it.

I'm going to try my best to begin writing again, as in the past few weeks the most I've gotten down is about a paragraph.

    TwiShy Project? (Potentially large collab)

Like the title says, I'm thinking of starting up a TwiShy Project, similar to the other 'Projects', such as The AppleDash Project, The RariDash Project, and the TwiDash Project.

I've been inactive for a while. A long while. I figured it's about time to update any of you who still care about any information regarding my stories.

To start, I think I'm never going to finish Books and Butterflies, Fluttershy and the Library Cat, or any other projects I may have finished. I've mostly lost interest in MLP, and so I have minimal desire to continue writing fan fiction for it.

My Skype account, yayflutters, is inactive as well, in case any of you who have me on there (very few) haven't noticed. I will not be returning to the account.

What will I be doing from now on? Not sure. I might continue writing, as the only things I've written are on here, or unfinished, sitting on my hard drive.

I'll post one last story for you all: one that I wrote back in mid January, and never posted because I didn't like how it turned out.

The night seemed as if it had been set up almost perfectly. The weather was chilly, the library was absolutely silent, and my bed was very warm and comfortable. The room was mostly dark, except for a single candle lit on the bedside table. I had a good book, a cute little romance novel. More importantly, I had her. I had my forelegs wrapped around her, holding her close while I levitated the book in front of us. The book glowed with a faint purple aura, illuminating it just enough so that I could read it to her. She really seemed to enjoy the story, and whenever I started to get to the more… Romantic parts, she would always turn her head to look at me and smile. When she did this, I returned the smile as best as I could and planted a gentle, loving kiss on either her forehead or her cheek.
Whenever I looked into her beautiful, teal eyes, I always felt as if my heart would melt right there. They were eyes that I just simply couldn’t say ‘no’ to, no matter how hard I tried. Of course, I would never deny a request of hers, no matter how ridiculous it may be. It hurt to see such a kind and gentle pegasus such as herself be either sad, disappointed, upset, any of those things. Coupled with the adorably long and pink mane of hers, you end up with one incredibly cute mare.
Before long, I had finished reading the book to her, and I rest my head above hers. I levitated the book onto the bedside table, and I prepared to give her a kiss goodnight, but she seemed to have other plans. Instead of turning around and cuddling up close to me as she usually would, she only turned her head back to look at me. “Twily?” She had given me a nickname, the exact same one used by my brother, but I didn’t mind. I found it very cute, and I responded by rubbing my nose against her cheek.
“Yes Fluttershy?” I didn’t have a nickname for her – not yet, that is. She didn’t seem as if she was ready to go to sleep, if anything, she seemed ready to just stay up the rest of the night. I was mostly right about this; she wanted to stay up longer, but not until morning.
“Could you tell me another story?” She turned around after she said this, resting her head under my chin and nuzzling my chest. I was ready to get up and find another story, and she seemed to sense this. She placed a hoof over mine, stopping me as I looked down into her eyes. “One about us, please…”
This was an unusual request, but just like every other one of hers, it was one I could not deny. I took a deep breath, searching my mind for a story I could tell her. Before long, I found one. “How about the story of when we first met?” I smiled at her, pressing my lips to her forehead. “I’m not sure if you remember this one…”
This acquired a curious look from her, and she tilted her head slightly. “Of course I remember that, Twily… Why wouldn’t I?” I felt a little surprised at first, but that feeling quickly diminished with her next sentence. “My birds were singing, and you surprised me, scaring off the birds…”
I had to let out a small giggle from hearing this, and I shook my head slowly. Oh, she was in for quite a surprise. It took me a while to remember this as well, being as it was very long ago. “No… We actually met well before then.” I took a deep breath, preparing myself to tell the story. “It was many years before I came to Ponyville, back when I still lived in Canterlot…”

“Twily, come on… You need to get outside, get some fresh air and make some friends while you’re at it!” My brother, a white unicorn with a unique blue mane, had managed to get me outside for once. I had to hold my hooves in front of my eyes to shield them from the blinding light that is Celestia’s sun, and once I thought my eyes had adjusted, I lowered my hooves a little. As it turned out, I was wrong, and had to continue to hold them in front of my eyes. I probably stood there for a couple minutes before my eyes were finally adjusted, and I looked over to my brother. He stood close to my side, and he smiled at me, beckoning for me to follow him. “Come on, Twily. You’ll be fine.”
I let out a somewhat irritated sigh, and decided that I would follow him. I had no other option, and as he trotted along throughout Canterlot, I followed. I stayed close to his side, looking around at the city. I had never actually gotten the chance to look at it before; I always had my nose buried into a book, keeping completely focused on my reading and not the sights around me. Somehow I had managed to not bump into anypony or anything, which was probably a good thing.
“Where are we going?” I asked him, doing my best to hide any irritation I may have felt towards him taking me away from my studies. I didn’t see what was so important about going out and getting a little ‘fresh air’. I always thought that the air inside was very fresh; there was nothing wrong with it, so why did I have to go outside for ‘fresh air’? I kept these thoughts to myself of course, knowing well that it would not be good to express such opinions towards my brother.
“The park, of course!” As if by some strange sort of coincidence, right as he said that, we arrived at the park. It was relatively empty, save for a few foals and their parents. “I figured you could find a friend here, and have some fun too.” As much as I loved my brother, I had to share my opinion. I responded with a groan, and he chuckled at it. “Oh come on Twily, it’s not that bad.” He nudged me with his foreleg and pointed towards a pegasus who was sitting in a sandbox all by herself. “Why don’t you go over and talk to her?”
I shook my head, closing my eyes and expressing my disapproval at such a ridiculous thing. “Twily, I hate to force this on you, but Mom and Dad said you had to make at least one friend.” I sighed, mostly to myself. I didn’t want to disappoint my parents, and so very hesitantly I started walking towards the pegasus. As I got closer to her, I noticed that she had a light yellow coat, along with a rather long pink mane that curled in front of one of her eyes. From her other eye, I could tell that they were teal.
She seemed to notice me walking towards her, as she stopped playing around in the sand. Well, what little she was actually doing, that is. She had mostly just been drawing little shapes into the sand, and once I got closer, I saw just what they were. She had drawn a few tic-tac-toe boards into the sand, and I assumed she had been playing it by herself, as most of them were complete, all of them being ties.
I sat down at the end of the sandbox opposite her, being careful not to ruin anything she had already made. I looked over to her, and she had turned around almost completely, as if she was trying to ignore me. It seemed as if she was looking around for her parents, and I searched the park for them as well. I couldn’t find any that looked as if they might have been her parents, and she didn’t seem to either, as when I turned to look back at her, she was already staring at me.
I could tell just by looking at her eyes that she was very nervous, and I was sure that she had just as much social interaction as I did. Maybe a little more, considering that I had none at that point. I looked back towards where my brother was, and I saw him sitting at a bench not too far from where I was, smiling and waving at me. I turned back to look at the pegasus another time, who had started to draw shapes into the sand yet again. I sighed, standing up and walking from my corner of the sandbox and over towards hers, being careful to avoid anything she had drawn. I sat down next to her, seeing that she had started yet another game of tic-tac-toe.
She had just prepared the board and drawn a circle into the middle when I reached out my hoof and drew an ‘x’ into the top-right corner. She let out a small gasp in surprise, and nearly jumped out of the sandbox right there. I had to giggle at such a response, and I gave her a nervous smile, raising my hoof to wave at her. “Hi there…”
The pegasus stared down at the game she had started, drawing another circle. I decided it would be best to just play the game, and I drew another ‘x’ onto the board. The game was finished very quickly, ending in a tie. I was actually very surprised by this; nopony had ever bested me in a game of tic-tac-toe before. Ever. I have to admit, the pegasus was impressing me already, but I’m sure she wasn’t smart enough to talk about quantum physics or anything of the like.
I thought I would take another shot at this ‘socializing’ thing, and spoke up again. “Hello, my name is Twilight Sparkle. What’s yours?” I always saw my family shake other ponies’ hooves whenever they greeted somepony, so I assumed it was best to do the same. I held out my hoof towards her, to which she only stared at it and mumbled. “What was that?” I had to ask her again, which I hoped I didn’t have to do too many other times. I knew that if it took more than three tries, there was no way I was going to get an answer and that I should probably leave.
Luckily enough, I got an audible answer the second time around. “Fluttershy…” Her name described her personality perfectly. That was the only sound I had gotten from her at that point, not counting the gasp from her earlier. She slowly extended her hoof towards mine as well, shaking it.
It was actually kind of nice to meet another pony who didn’t seem to be very social either. Maybe I could get along with somepony after all. Get along with somepony besides my family and foalsitter, of course. She started up another game of tic-tac-toe, one that finished in a tie yet again. Maybe my brother was right after all. Maybe having a friend really was a good idea. I smiled at her and she looked up at me, smiling as well, albeit very nervously.
Sadly, things had to come to an end. And so soon, too… My brother had walked over to me from the bench she had been sitting on not too long ago, and placed his hoof on my back. “Sorry Twily, but we have to go. It’s starting to get a little late, and Mom and Dad are probably worried.” I frowned upon hearing this, my ears flattening. I looked at my brother, and towards the pegasus.
“Can we meet again some other time?” I asked her, hoping that I would be able to, but knowing that I would have to rely strictly off of chance. There was no way I could contact her or her family to see if we could meet up again.
She looked down at her hooves, frowning and nodding her head very slowly. “Umm… I guess…” She looked back up at me, sadness filling her eyes.
I smiled at her, and wrapped my forelegs around her in a friendly hug. “I hope to see you again soon, Fluttershy…” She nodded her head in agreement, returning the hug.
“Me too…” She whispered into my ear just before my brother pulled me away from her, lifting me up onto his back. I turned around to look at her and waved a hoof goodbye at her, keeping my eyes locked on her until she was out of sight. I turned back to look at my brother and frowned, clinging to him tightly.
“Don’t worry Twily, I’m sure you’ll see her again soon.” My brother tried his best to comfort me, but knew just as well as I did that there was a very slim chance of that happening. The pegasus didn’t even seem as if she lived in Canterlot, an assumption I did not want to be true.
Every day that I had any amount of free time after that, I walked back to the park, looking around for the yellow pegasus. I never found her in the park. I even left a tic-tac-toe board there for her, just to see if we could try and play a game together, although a very slow one. For a few days, the board remained unchanged, until one day it was just gone.
Nevertheless, I still tried over and over again, the hope of finding her again diminishing with each day that I visited the park. Before long I had given up entirely, and gone back to my usual ‘anti-social’ self. My parents were not pleased with this, and kept trying to get me to find some friends, none of which ever lasted for more than a day or two. They just couldn’t hold my interest like the pegasus had.

“Of course, I met up with you again when I made it to Ponyville. I didn’t quite recognize you for a while, but when I did, boy was I happy. I had to suppress my excitement though; it probably would’ve made things a little weird for you just in case you didn’t remember me.” I rubbed the yellow pegasus’s back, holding her as close as I could without squeezing her.
She looked up at me, absolutely stunned. At the fact that I remembered such a thing, or remembered it with such precision, I wasn’t quite sure. Either way, she was surprised. “Wow… I thought you looked a little familiar, but I couldn’t quite put a hoof on where I had seen you before…” She smiled, giving me a gentle kiss on the cheek. “Now I remember though…”
I giggled softly, rubbing my cheek against hers in a loving nuzzle. “I really did keep looking for you. What happened?” I asked her, wanting to know her side of the story.
“Umm… Well, I moved to Ponyville… After leaving Cloudsdale, and choosing to stay on the ground, I checked out Canterlot for a day… That’s where I met you…” She started to frown a little bit, an expression that I did not like to see on her face. “It was horrible in Canterlot… I had nopony to stay with, nowhere to sleep… None of the ponies would give me anything I could eat… I couldn’t stay there Twily… I’m so sorry…” She had wrapped her forelegs around me tightly, clinging to me as she spoke. “I wanted to see you again really badly, you were the only pony who was actually nice to me there…” She sniffled, and I rubbed her back slowly.
“Shh… It’s alright, Fluttershy… I’m here for you now…” I pushed my lips against her cheek very gently, doing my best to comfort her. “Shh…”
She looked up at me, tears starting to form in her eyes. I wiped them away as soon as I noticed them, and smiled at her. “Twily?”
“Yes, Fluttershy?” I asked her, waiting patiently for her response.
She took a deep breath, pressing her lips against mine and wrapping her hooves around my neck. She also covered me with her wings, bringing me great warmth and comfort. I could feel my cheeks start to burn with an intense heat, and I knew at that point I was blushing harder than I ever had before. Our relationship hadn’t progressed to the point of kissing yet, besides the occasional peck on the cheek or forehead, and as such I was very, very surprised.
We both pulled away from the kiss at the same time, looking deeply into each other’s eyes and smiling. “I love you Twily…” Her cheeks tinted to a light red shade, and she smiled happily at me.
“I love you too, Fluttershy.” She closed her eyes and nuzzled my chest one last time, and before long she had fallen asleep. I blew out the candle that was still lit beside us, and closed my eyes, falling asleep next to her as well.

Farewell.

I'm sorry to hear that you've lost interest in the show as a whole, and are not likely to finish your stories... Perhaps even more so because you started writing around the same time I did. It's always sad to see people leave a fandom. Are you absolutely sure you've passed the point of no return? If I were in your position, I would wait and give season four a chance. Maybe you can rekindle your love for it.

Even so, I respect your decision. May many TwiShy stories be written in the future in your honor, if you do decide to sign off for the last time soon.

I may see how Season 4 is, but for the most part the show isn't as important to me as it used to be. I'm honestly glad that I gave this show a chance, it helped me discover a skill I never knew I had before, and has brought a few great friends with it as well. However, that's not enough to keep my interest in the show, as most of the reason I stuck around for so long in the first place was because of the community. You all gave me a reason to keep writing, continue to do what I enjoy and that lasted for a while...

Well, now that I'm done here, back to X and Y.

Really sad to hear that, good sir. Wish you luck for the future and thank you for that last TwiShy story. You will be missed.

Aww man, I thought you would never leave... Well, farewell my friend, I will miss your comments and your fics... Will you let somebody else to finish them? :fluttershysad:

To think, I was having a decent day until now. :raritycry:
I'm just kidding, but this is disheartening news. You were one of my favorite writers, and I appreciate all that you have given to us. Best of luck in wherever life next leads you.

This is a sad day, to know that a great writer of fluffy pony romance such as yourself will no longer be with us. Thank you for the warm feels you gave us. You will be missed around here, good sir.

:pinkiesad2:

Brother, before you leave, I'd like to say that I was inspired to write TwiShy because of you. All of my stories, I wrote to impress you. You shall be missed, friend.

I can understand your desire to leave; nothing can hold your interest forever. However, you will still be missed on this site. I can take over your stories, if you want. Just not the one with Fluttershutter, though. Just... no.
