Paper Ponies Update · 10:21pm Oct 17th, 2013
I have concluded that the story, Paper Ponies, will be updated ASAP. This means that my other current story, Frienimeis Forever, will be shoved to the side for a while, or even be put on Hiatus (or completely cancelled if I feel like it has to be). But, DON'T BE EXPECTING PAPER PONIES FOR OVER A WEEK. This process takes a looooong time to produce, which will be explained for those who are curious, so it will probably take at least until the 27th, may be later. Thank you and have a great day!
The process of making this fic VVVVVVVVV.
1) This is the easy part. Play/watch a playthrough of the game. I am taking most of the elements and characters directly from the game itself, so you are probably going to need a refresher of the game's storyline and characters. HOWEVER, as most of you already know, this is a very long game (16 - 22 hours USUALLY) so this process will take up a quarter or more of your time.
2) Write the fic. Now, this may seem easy, but I am using the ponies as the main characters, so the actions and reactions may be a little different. I also have to make sure the characters are themselves: I don't want Fluttershy to seem like a headstrong fighter, (although that would make an interesting fic by itself) it just wouldn't happen in the canon. Also, they may take different routes, or be tricked/stumped at one spot for a while, so I have to introduce this as well.
3) Proofreading. I have a proofreader that does a very good job (*cough 90% of the time), but I also have to go through and reread it just to make sure there wasn't any part of the story I missed. This will take up as much time as writing the fic if done thoroughly.
4) Links, thank yous, and feedback. This will be probably the most important part. Getting the music there onto the fic is just plain annoying, but adds another element to the story; it helps set the the mood a little better if I don't hit the main words/phrases. Not thanking the people that have done work towards your story is like saying you don't need them to create it - it's just plain wrong. And feedback is where you learn to become a better writer. You can read your story 1000 times, and it might be some comment or person that points out the one thing that could make your story a hit, so pay attention.
That is all.
