    Xlibris

Hey, you guys ever hear of Xlibris? I've got an offer from them to publish my book, but I'm getting some shady vibes from some of the reviews I've read about them. Any thoughts?

    Amazon's changing it's print costs.

So, as of June 20th, Amazon will be changing its print costs. Specifically, everything is going to be a bit more expensive. If you were on the fence for buying a physical copy of my books, now's the time to change your mind, seeing as how the price is going to increase in a couple of months. Thought I'd give you all the heads up.

    What I Am: Aftermath chapter.

Hey, guys, I'm writing a conclusion chapter for What I Am. Nothing too substantial, given that a sequel and spin off already exist, but I thought I'd put it down as both a way to let those that don't exactly follow me (or, at the very least, don't follow my blog) know that the second book is out, and also know that A Darkened Sky is about to get a whole lot of chapters.

    Fool's Gambit.

Man, did you ever go back and just... cringe at what you did before? That happened to me with Fool's Gambit. The story has plenty of potential, that's not the problem. My problem is with how it's written. The prose is off, there are numerous errors, and I feel like the whole thing is rushed. Like, that first part could have easily been 4-5 chapters longer, and it would have been better for

Ignorance is(n't) Bliss Question! · 1:46am Oct 9th, 2013

Hey, guys. serious question. I've looked at a few stories with the dark tag, and honestly my story is never going to get that dark. so should I keep the dark tag? from what you've seen of my story so far, would it be too far of a stretch to remove that tag?
your thoughts on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

If you planning to keep the story in the form as so far then I think that you can safely remove that tag:eeyup:
Unless you plannig to described in detail some fighting scenes :ajsmug: (you know blood and so-so:pinkiecrazy:)

1406103 I kinda figured as much. the main reason I put it in in the first place was because I mentioned that the Dridune had preformed vivisections before, and were about to do it to twilight. I wasn't sure if that would be considered too dark without that tag, so I slapped it on just to be safe.

Well, the official description of the tag is

Dark: If you boil it down, a Dark Category story brings forth the contrast of good and evil. The story deals with corruption, war, death (violent), horror... basically what would make a world 'darker and grittier'. It doesn't have to be outright violent, for example, if you look at most fairy-tales they have a lot of happy or even nice things happen before the ultimate dark aspect (the death/torture/destruction of the bad guy or unfortunate hero) takes place.

So while your story certainly isn't the darkest thing out there, I think it still fits the definition.

1406148 thank you, but I think that is what has been driving people away from my story. they take one look at the dark tag, and immediately think "grimdark." which certainly isn't the case here.:facehoof:

anyway, I removed it, but I may add it back on later.:twilightsheepish:
