I'm Not Dead, But I HAVE Released A Book

Hi guys. As always I'm really sorry about how long it's been since I posted here. I mostly used this blog as a place to talk about ponies and to be completely honest I'm still yet to see any of season five. Horrific I know. I'm waiting until I can watch it with the girlfriend and she's been too busy to do so. It sounds like I'm missing some pretty good stuff though.

    Merry Christmas Everypony!

Merry Christmas everypony. I hope you get something nice you really want, or give somepony else something they really want. I'd give you a Christmas update but it's a bit too grim for a day that's supposed to be happy. Christmas also marks the day I joined Fimfiction. Well, Christmas Eve does. I missed it though so here's a happy whatever we call the anniversary of our joining here.

    A Video I Did

I'm afraid I'm here with more shameless self promotion. I wish I could offer you more but unfortunately there's not much to offer you at this point. I'm trying to take some steps to improve my life positively and take things in a better direction. To that end I recorded myself doing a recording of one of my stories, Tulips. I'm not asking you to buy anything this time. I'm just asking that you

I Have New Short Stories Out

Non-horse ones I'm afraid. I don't know how many of you are interested in non-horse stories from me but this is pretty much the place where I have the most people listening to what I say  If you're interested in horse stories from me then I'm afraid you're going to have to wait as I'm still focusing on non-horse fiction at the minute. Life keeps getting in the way of that too. At

    I'm A Published Author, Again!

I know we've been waiting for this for a while but the time has finally come. I have been published, properly. Still through Amazon, but that's okay. I can live with that. I don't know if I even told you the story of this story, so I'll tell it you know. I wrote a poem called The Beast. I then got the idea to extend it into an actual story...that I also called The Beast. After reading through the

A Few Things About Working Towards The Future · 4:00pm Oct 3rd, 2013

Oh wow, it's been over a month since I made a blog post. Well, I'm still alive, as my updating my story will show you. My story is also why I'm here today in this particular blog post. I'm basically just writing things I'm going to stick in the author's notes at some point or another (probably tomorrow) but thought I would write them down here too for those who are curious. Plus just to get them out.

First of all, I have changed the cover art of the story. This is also ties into the second thing. I actually picked the cover art on a whim and after a while I realised that it actually perfectly fitted something that was going to happen, something that has now changed. The second thing is that I can now confirm that Working Towards The Future WILL be split into two stories. I think I said I had two or three major events left to happen in the story. If I'm thinking right (I'm ill, so you'll have to forgive me) I have 1...2...2 events left. There was a third which will now become the subject of it's own story. The second will feel like an ending, and so would the third, and so I decided to just make two separate stories to not devalue either of them. To tell you more about it would also spoil the endings of both stories, so you'll have to forgive me and trust I know what I'm doing. It would be a first. Me knowing what I'm doing that is, not being trusted to know that.

I think that's all the story related stuff I have for you but I now have a cool statistic. I recently came across an image which is sadly far too large to be sticking on here, but it told me that the Harry Potter series contained 1,090,739 words. I really hope that JK told someone how many words each book has and it wasn't just that some poor schmuck had to actually count each individual word. There are seven Harry Potter books in all, and when you divide 1,090,739 by 7 you get 155,819 (not a precise number, there's a decimal point too). This means that on average a Harry Potter book is 155,819 words long. This is kinda disproportionate though because the first and second ones aren't too long and they didn't get long until about the fourth one. Anyway, Working Towards The Future currently has 149,532 words.

That's right. In the space of four months I have managed to write a pretty good length novel. 6k words a week doesn't sound like too much, nor does working on something for a few months (especially when you consider there's usually a space of about a year between books in a series) but but taking a step back and seeing it like that shows how much I've actually gone and done.

I had a look the other week, it was around 70k words, then boom almost doubled in a couple of days...thats how awesome you are

1392317
Ha thanks. I used to have different goals for the word count and then I finally gave up giving out estimates. It was originally supposed to last maybe 20k words. Then we were up to 40k, then 50k, then 80k, then 100k...then I just gave up.

1392324 hehe...well I am loving it and loving doing the audio book for it, maybe you could blog about that one and link the two vid's in

1392328
I can do that yeah  I don't like making more than one update a day (or month it seems :ajbemused:) so I'll put it up tomorrow. The main reason I didn't was because people who read the story actually aren't following me :twilightsheepish: That thing has nearly three times as many favourties as I have followers :twilightoops:

1392331 wow... you can link blogs to stories...at the bottom just before save button there is a few tick boxes, one for each story, maybe try that

1392334
Aye, I can do that too. I just have bad luck with the blogging system here. I've had people be surprised that Working Towards The Future even exists even though I made a blog about it, and tagged Im Tired Of All This.

1392339 what....wow.... that is actually kind of funny, is that why you put the link at the end of I am tried of all this

1392341
I'm not sure if I actually did ever put a link in I'm Tired Of All This. It's the main problem people have with this new rule that you can't put sequel announcements in a story and should use a blog post instead. No one reads blog posts. Well, some people do obviously, but the vast majority don't. Sequel announcements within stories themselves are the best way to go about doing it.

1392346 see I found Working first, then used the link in the description to go back to tired

hi poni. good to see you back. <3

1392360
I never left my friend  I still read all your blog posts, I just don't comment on each one cos I feel like I have nothing to really say/contribute.

1392444
just you commenting makes my day though...

1392446
I'll keep that in mind

1392346

Or, apparently, Blog announcements in stories. That is what got me here after all.

Its true though. I don't tend to follow writers, I tend to follow stories instead. It hadn't even occurred to me, but not being allowed to announce sequels would prevent me from finding out about them. I check out the new stories and updates quite frequently so I tend to catch them sooner or later, but still...

I just hope you kill DT in the end.:pinkiecrazy:

1394104
All that proves is that more people read Author's Notes than read their feed list  I actually forgot to announce on "I'm Tired Of All This" that Working Towards The Future Exists. I actually even made a blog post lamenting the lack of attention it got given how popular "I'm Tired Of All This" was, so I guess I only had myself to blame for that one :trollestia:

1394206
So does a surprisingly large number of people :twilightblush:
