So my first story was just completed, and I don't really know what to think of it. I'm feeling a sort of mix between 'I can't believe I wasted so much time on this' and 'this is the best thing I've ever done.' It was a lot of effort that won't be getting me any physical rewards, but I think that it was worth it just because of the experience. For those who stuck with it from the beginning and joined in sometime nearer to the middle and end, I thank you for reading the results of my bored and overactive mind.
It was fun really. I think I learned a lot about writing in general because of it, and I consider all the effort that went into it well wasted as a result. This was the most complicated and most expansive thing that I have ever written over a period of time, so it was definitely fairly unpolished. Fortunately, I have nowhere to go but up in terms of my writing skill, and I do not plan on stopping just yet. I'll likely start a new story eventually once I get an idea that I like enough, although no telling when that will be.
Well, I'm going to be fairly busy today, so I'm just going to go and bask in the afterglow. Thanks for reading.
Congrats on completing your story! I havent actually finished reading it, but it was evident all the way the level of effort you put into every moment of it! It's good that every artist and writer is critical of their own work and strive to do better, but what counts is that you had as much fun writing it as we did reading. I certainly enjoyed it thoroughly.
Good luck on your next story, and if your first one is any indication then I am excited to see what you have planned for next!
Very nice, I figured it was complete after reading the ending. It was a good story, and it's always fun to be able to go 'holy fuck, I just completed a story.' The first one is always special, too.
I've been following your other one, The Alicorn Ring, as well, and I look forward to your future writings.
If it's any consolation, the tone of those last two chapters seemed well-nigh perfect to me.
