    The Legend of Mass Effect

So the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition released today and I've been having a blast replaying through ME 1. These are game I haven't been able to play in over 7 years. Going to a Wiki to research information on ME is fine, but experiencing the game is so much better.

    Revisions are Finished

So chapter 9 and 10 were the two I dreaded the most. After reading them again I realized that having Shepard, AJ, and Dash fight, the way I did, was rather out of character; especially for the latter two. So I removed the fight and added a new story plot point that I think will be a lot more fun to play with in the future. So anyway with 9 and 10 being combined into a singular chapter this

    Getting Closer

So Chapter 7 has finally been updated, only three more to go, and I'm making good progress. While I had announced that I'd hoped to have a new chapter up by the second week of April, sadly, that does not seem to be possible.

Pony Space - Chapter Updates · 2:21am Apr 12th, 2012

For all of you readers who have stuck with me as I trip and stumble over my own feet trying to write this story I just wanted to say that the story is not dead. I am still writing and intend to bring this story to its conclusion. That said I am having trouble writing the next chapter. Not for lack of ideas or motivation just that I seem to get distracted really easily nowadays. Every time I settle in to write I quickly get lost in youtube videos or playing games.

Has something like this ever happened to you? Does anyone have suggestions on how to overcome it.

I'm thinking that maybe the best course of action is to take a break from Pony Space and write something else for a bit. Maybe a little one-shot or two-fer story. I've got several ideas but have been holding off on them until Pony Space was completed. Do you think this is a good idea? If I took a break from Pony Space then what should I write about? Ideas?

I've got several ideas for little one-shots. One in particular I'd love to write, a mini-crossover, would be between My Little Pony and Mass Effect. If you've played any of the Mass Effect games, or have heard about them, then you probably have heard about all the rage over the ending to Mass Effect 3. This one-shot would be a post-Mass Effect 3 story to kind of give is a unique kind of ending where Twilight finds, not really a spoiler, but kind of, one of the time capsules that Liara T'Soni seeded across the galaxy to warn future species about the threat of the Reapers. End of spoilers Just something simple that might evolve into its own story later on. But, I need to focus on one epic tale at a time.

Which brings me back to Pony Space. Its not dead, in fact far from it. Just having some trouble focusing on it yet I hope to bring a new chapter soon. If anyone has any ideas, suggestions, and/or feedback I'd love to hear it.

Hah! I am quite literally in the same boat as you. :pinkiegasp: Writing multiple stories can work; just as long as you don't end up doing what I've done: forcing yourself to write four stories simultaneously, because you start one whenever you get stuck. :facehoof: A short series or one-shot can help though. Write whatever you want to write about; it can be as thematically different as you want. Coincidentally, I also started an ME:3 Crossover when I couldn't focus on my Halo Crossover. :twilightoops: It sounds like you've got a sound idea down there; it would work well for a one-shot.

I've recently started listening to music while I write. I do go a little slower, but it tends to focus me a bit more. Dunno if that helps, chances are you already do. :applejackunsure:

Its funny how a bunch of us have the exact same problem. I agree with Cainiam DON'T start writing ten different stories to try and clear your head, that would only fuck yourself ten times over. My advice if your going to write other fanfics is to make sure that whatever it is your writing is going to come naturally to you and be fun as hell to write.

My ex. I was writing this Ponified Soviet Union alternate universe crossover with regular Equestria (its not as confusing as it sounds), but i got this incredible writers block that i cant shake off, so im instead going to write a story based on this table-top RPG that me, my brother, and our friends made when we had no power from hurricane Katrina (we live in Florida at least :P) back in 2005. (Teenagers, wasted as fuck, no parents, [out of state at the time...for FIVE days!] and Iron Maiden basting in the background for good measure.......it was the best RPG of ALL TIME.)

So for me it would be a cinch and fun as shit to write. And if you listen to music while you write, i would recommend not using you tube so the temptation to go video wandering wont be there. So go my good sir and BE THE AWESOME WRITER THAT YOU ARE.

I have the same problem, all the fucking time :raritycry:. I'm always trying to write but I always get distracted by video games or the internet. My only advice is, if possible, go somewhere where there's no internet connection (or a prohibitively crappy one) and no games. That way neither one can tempt you. Always works for me; it's amazing how much you can get done when you know there's no internet or Skyrim within easy reach.

I had the day off today and I had planned to spend this day writing. Instead I played Skyrim all day, got nothing done. :raritycry:

Booyah! Pony Space isn't dead! I had seriously almost given up hope.
Don't worry, knowing that it is still continuing is all I need for now. If your next chapter is anything like the previous ones, then it will be well worth the wait.
Fear not, I'm having a similar problem with my Warhammer 40k story. I never have time to write anything, and when I do, I can never really write the stuff between the awesome scenes. Ever had that problem? You have awesome ideas for some scenes, but you have no idea how to connect them and fill in the gaps in between.
Anyway, good luck, keep writing, and stay awesome.
