Just what I've been up to lately.
And no, it hasn't been absolutely nothing. Only partially nothing...
But anyways, I have been working on something pony related recently. And though it's still in its stages on infancy, and there's still plenty of progress for me to make, I want to share with you all just what I got myself into.
I'm going to create a pony RPG game.
16-Bit overhead view style (sorta like the old final fantasy games), with its own unique story line and custom made... well, everything pretty much, from enemies to attributes to even a few locations.
I ain't gonna say much about it right now, but yes, you will be playing as members of the mane six, and perhaps even a few others as well...? More to come on that, but here's the really interesting part...
I'm actually making a lot of progress.
Recently I've been working with ActionScript 3.0 (mainly because I already know how to work Flash), so the game will be using flash. The past couple weeks a lot of my free time has been spent watching and re-watching coding tutorials and all you can do with them, and just today I verified my very first, completely hand-jammed code from scratch using no copy-pasta from a tutorial video. I can already do a lot, but there's still so much to learn, but I'm confident I can learn it.
Oh, and I got some stuff to show off what I've learned so far. It's still a little buggy, and the system isn't perfect yet, but gimme time and I can get everything down properly. Here's what I want to show you: Click Here! (Click to Download at the top left)
What that is is my recent test at the whole overhead view thing using some very old sprites I recol-AHEM I mean uh, made, yes. Like I said, it's still a bit sketchy in areas, but it shouldn't take much to clean it up, and you can admit I'm making progress. I already got down how to move the character around, and that (to me) is probably gonna be the hardest part. But yeah, that was all hand-jammed myself... go me, wooh!
Yeah, for all of you out there who know programming you can probably go "this is some noob shit" but hey, I am a noob at it, but I'm a dedicated noob! Fear my power!
Bah, I digress. So yes, programming in flash with ActionScript 3.0 is what I've been busying myself with lately. Hopefully in a few months (After a multitude of smaller projects to hone my skills~) I will be well into making this pony game with a grand new adventure. I am very optimistic, and with a posotive mind, nothing can stop me!

Circuitfry is one of the admins on My Little Remix, and the guy behind the Balloon Party and Rainbow and Rooted albums. I knew he was making a game as well, and it sounded like it could be the same, so I figured I'd check
I would have never thought that you, of all people, would make a video game. I never thought that, really, just ANYONE could make a video game (no matter how small). You know, I want to be a video game programmer when I grow up, and you have inspired me even further to pursue that goal.
I hope your game flourishes and prospers...
(P.S. I also wish to test games when I grow up as well, so If you need testers, just PM me or something. I visit this site everyday).

Here you go. Go to this guy's youtube page, and his tutorials are right there. Start from tutorial 1, and go on, following closely with actionscript 3.0. If you do not have flash, get the trial version, buy it, or simply find some shady way to acquire it. But yes, all the tutorials are there, and that's what I used.
Make spike a secret character, and My Queen tro... I mean, Princess Celestia, last "real" Boss for true ending.
Also add Rarity in it, don't forget Rarity.

There will be a lot of villians in it, though there will be some excluded. However, some villains may turn neutral or even "good" in some instances. Also be ready for epicness on a grand scale, including deaths, harsh feels, and time travel.
