I Wish The Real World Would Just Stop Hassling Me · 5:04am Sep 7th, 2013

That way I could write more! I spent so much time on the phone with people and filling out paperwork and trying to understand legalese I hardly had time to write.

Fortunately I was finally able to get back to it and post a chapter of Trixie vs. Equestria today. That makes me feel much more accomplished. Unfortunately I now have to plan my move to Houston and whatnot, so I'm not likely to speed up.

For those of you reading anything of mine, things are going on a brief hiatus while I work on my entry for Random Romance's monthly contest. I haven't even started it yet, but I know more or less exactly what I'm going to do, so I don't think the writing will take too long once I find the time to do it.

Now, I mentioned last week that this week I would tell a few things about my future MLP literary plans. What follows is a number of story concepts. When No Heroes is finished I'm gonna start writing a story about Lightning Dust, but when Trixie vs. Equestria ends I'm gonna pick one of these. I want opinions, maybe a sort of mock vote. It's gonna be a while before I finish TvE, apparently, and this list may get added to in the future. When TvE is close to being done, then I'll have a real vote, assuming I get the feeling enough people are interested.

So, the ideas! Note that, unless specifically stated, all these stories take place in the No Heroes universe.

A Little Journey
Discord was turned back to stone in Book 3 of No Heroes, and this time even the Elements can't help him. When the Archons discover word of a potential cure in the lands beyond the Everfree Forest, Fluttershy decides she must help her friend. But she won't be alone on this journey: Rainbow Dash isn't about to let Fluttershy go by herself, and if she's going so is Nye. And then there's Fine Crime, who for his own reasons is determined to keep Fluttershy safe at all costs...

Partially a shipping story, but also an adventure!

The Canterlot Tales
Every 100 years the Princesses of Equestria journey to a hidden land, where resides the tomb of Luna's and Celestia's ancestors. With each century, they select a small and privileged few to join them on this holy journey. The Mane 6 and Luna's team are selected to join, along with a few choice others. On the way, they learn of one special tradition: the travelers must each tell a story, one on the way over, another on the way back.

A series of short stories, each told by a different character. Based on the idea of The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer.

The Adventures of Kit and Caboose
When he was five years old, Fine Crime and his father lived for three months alone on an uncharted island. They never shared the story of what life was like during that time; it was far too personal. And yet they worked together to write the story down for posterity. Now, twenty-five years later, they've decided it is time to reveal their story of survival.

Reddux the Tyrant
Not very long ago, ponies and dragons were mortal enemies. The ponies wanted peace, but it did not seem like it would ever happen, because Reddux, the biggest, strongest and most feared of all dragons, refused to allow it. One day Celestia decided to address him personally; the resulting battle ended in a draw, and it seemed the two races would be forever divided.

Two years later, Reddux was killed by an unknown dragonslayer, opening the path to peace. Who could have possibly killed Reddux, and how? This is the true story behind the death of the most feared dragon in Equestrian history. But there's more than just dragons and ponies in this story; a malevolent force lurks in the shadows, planning to take advantage of the growing unrest between the races.

How To Write a Romance
Rainbow Dash has been a longtime fan of Daring Do, and for some time now has been trying to write fanfiction. But when she hears of a local romance contest, she's suddenly far more interested than usual. Rainbow doesn't know a thing about romances, and she wants this story to mean something, so she goes to the one pony who can help her: Twilight! But as the two work on developing something worth while, Twilight begins to notice correlations between the story and Rainbow's life. There might be more to this story than just an attempt at being the best. This isn't just a romance, it's a confession... and now Twilight has to try and keep the secret from Rainbow's real intended audience!

Purely a romance. And, unlike the others, this story is entirely unrelated to the No Heroes universe.

That's it for now. I'll add others as I think of them over the coming weeks.

I would like to vote on the "How To Write A Romance" story. It sounds the most interesting to me. But...I'm biased towards anything with Dash in it.

Canterlot tales all the way. I actually read the Canterbury tales in highschool. Wold love to see a ponified version.

I read it in college. I remember regretting that Chaucer never got very far in it. It just sounds like a good concept to me, y'know?
