So, I've got these plans, care to hear 'em? · 9:27pm Apr 6th, 2012
This is a blog post for anyone that still cares.
This constant schedule that I have been holding up for a while now is starting to get to me, it just
doesn't work. It demotivates me, and takes away the pleasure that I've found in writing. So it's time
to turn the wheel and go for a completely different approach, time to shed the skin, as it were. I'm
going to be blunt here. It's obvious that with Unwanted ending a long time ago, and Lately's story
getting quite lengthy, that the interest and popularity of my fics has hit rock bottom, I'm simply not
going to lie to you on this one. I am aware that some people still genuinely like Lately, despite the
fact that it took me a month to update it last time, and I love you guys for that.
So here's the deal, I'm going to turn my plans around:
1. Concerning my plans: I am not going to be just writing Lately anymore, it's really been chopping
at the quality of the story. I am going to finish it though, as much for me as the handful of people who
still read it. I just feel like I am limiting myself by focusing on this one story so much, I don't want to be
a one-trick pony.
2. Concerning my new story: I am going to be starting a new story soon which has been a returning
request for quite some time now. This story will not be linked to Lately in any way, shape, or form. I
don't want to give too much away yet. All I can say right now is that it's going to be quite similar to
Unwanted, but different, don't spoil this, Bryant. The first chapter is a work in progress.
3. Concerning Lately: I took notice of my obvious lack of a plan of where to go with this story, so I
made one, a big one. Sadly, the amount of updates won't really improve with this plan, and I
apologize for that. I just wanted you guys to know that the next few chapters will revolve around
Luna and Rainbow Dash.
4. Concerning me: I've decided to start writing stories as they come. In other words: I might be writing
some one-shots every once in a while. I am currently running two jobs at once, whilst still having to
focus on my study, and ,at the request of my significant other, battling my alcohol addiction, so I don't
have as much time for writing as I would like to have.
Anyhow, welcome to the Vozzletrain, we're going to be here for a while so just sit back and enjoy the
ride. For now, it would be awesome if you could leave me a comment below, telling me what you think
of the four points that I mentioned above. The Vozzletrain has left the station, food and beverages are
not included in your trip. :C

I'm very sorry to hear that you have difficulties with alcohol, Vozzlefox, but I'm glad to hear that you are trying to deal with them and wish you all the best for that.
As far as the writing goes, let it flow wherever your muse takes you that day - no sense in forcing one story and writing a poorer chapter instead of writing a nice one-shot or similar!
I am one of those who are still keeping up with Lately because the curse that is my curiosity. I'm good with whatever though as long as you are enjoying it. Thank you!
Vozzlefox, a few thoughts...
1) Do it. Seriously. I've done the same thing, and while I humbly admit that I'm not to the point (yet) where I don't want to write my story, I did take some times to step back, and do another couple of stories. Sure, they were one shots, but they, in effect, recharged my batteries per say, and helped me do better with my main. I have said this to many other authors that have had the same thoughts.
2) If its anywhere near your other work, I'm going to make sure that I follow that story as well! I think you should put a blog post to make sure that I know it exists, because for whatever reason, when an author you are watching puts up a new story, it doesn't tell you
3) No lie, I kinda noticed that you planned out most of the story after the fact. If I'm right, it was right around the time that Sweetie Belle got possessed that you decided to really made the simple shipping story truly an epic. Don't get me wrong, I love it, and I am glad you made the decision, but I know how stories tend to get out of hand! You think that it'll be 40k words, but next thing you know, you are hitting the 60k mark, and aren't even halfway done! Yikes!
4) I think I speak for any sane non-troll when I say that as much as it sucks sometimes, real life always comes first. The concept that you did come out, and tell us that you are doing what you can, and the reasons why is enough for good enough for pretty much all of us. As for your alcohol addiction, I won't go into it that much because its probably a touchy personal matter, but admitting that it exists, and actually trying to do something about it is probaby one of the hardest steps, and I know for a fact that we all support you
And on a final point, and I'm kinda shooting myself in the foot here a little, but do not EVER write something just for your readers. If you are writing something, and don't enjoy it, then you are putting yourself through something that you don't need to go through. If you don't wanna write for your story, DON'T! Write a one shot, start a new series, take a month or two break by putting on hiatus, but don't ever grind through, not enjoying the experience. Its definitely not fair to you to suffer through it. Now, if you had one chapter left, I might be inclined to say "suck it up" more, but seriously, don't worry about it. Sure, you may piss off readers if you end up cancelling it (worst case scenario I know, but roll with it), but your personal happiness is more important than us. Besides, if nothing else, quality heavily suffers when you don't enjoy what you write
Just know that we all love you Vozzlefox, and we all understand.

Well I just have to admit that Lately is my favorite story in this fiction so far and will most likely keep that placement for as long as the world spins. I don't know, something about the taboo aspect of gay / lesbian love in it is definitely one of the most compelling factors. No-one else in this fandom seems to do that which gets very boring and unrealistic. Keep it up dude and I'll wait for every one of your updates on it as patiently as ever.
