Okay, first, let me say One thing:
I saw Equestria Girls due to youtube. (Thank you magic of the internet!)
anyway, I personally, liked it, it was pretty good in MY opinion, feel free to disagree, I won't min, at all. it's your opinion, just like how I liked it.
but, going back to the topic at hand, I was trying to get to the new hub world special, of voting for your favorite pony. (If Luna is not an option, I'll go with Dashie! she's my second favorite pony, right under Luna.)
when as I was waiting for the page to try and show up (So far, it doesn't seem to work...) I checked through the other shows on the Hub, and I notice, the picture of Human Twi. from Equestria GIrls, and when I hover over it, it IS Equestria girls. (Right next to Batman Beyond if you want to look for it yourself.)
and I click on it, and I find this:

So, is this going to be a new series that's an alternate canon where Twilight chose to stay in the human world? or will this be a continuation of the original canon, where after Twilight Left (The series (if it is one) will probably start by showing the movie anyway) it will follow Sunset shimmer... I'm not sure..but, it's all for curious and for speculation. so, LET THE SPECULATION BEGIN!
it's not a new show. they are going to show the movie on the HUB September 1st.
there probably going to show the movie, not a whole new series. They wouldn't just use the same characters in different bodies
1252804 Probably, but, Dear Luna, may I remind you that Equestria Girls came about as a whole due to the success of Monster High? Look at that, and tell me that Hasbro isn't dumb enough to pull making a whole series based on the movie's world? plus, if they make it a series based on the canon of the movie, then it's either Twi dealing with the human world problems, or it's following Sunset Shimmer taking Twi's place with the mane 5 humanized...

1252879 Is monster high based on another show though? Because even though the show may be spectacular, they are still original characters. It is a VERY rare circumstance when two shows feature the same characters, whether they look the same or not.
On another note, the show wouldn't revolve around sunset shimmer, regardless if the show exists or not. The ad clearly displays twilight in the forefront of the frame, and they wouldn't just cut her out of the show. It wouldn't be the same.
1253061 True, though some episodes of MLP do have Twilight not in them....or she's only mentioned, (Perfect example: Sleepless in Ponyville Twi's neither mentioned or shown it it, as the opening sequence doesn't count) Hmm...That's why I was saying earlier that it could be one of two things: either Sunset shimmer takes Twi's place, and it follows her (remember, the movie stated that Sunset was Celestia's student before Twi) or, it could be an alternate ending to the movie where Twi stays behind.
