    Damn peer pressure

Almost all reviews/comments for my Mass Effect/40k story have one thing in common. They wanted the Inquisitor to live.

Now, that was the original plan, but as I plotted out the story, I came across two problems. One; too many characters, and two; Character redundancy. The first problem is easy enough to explain. Mass Effect already has a ton of characters, and I'm just adding more.

    State of the Author.

Hello everybody. Got a few things to say here, so bear with me. If that sounds ominous, let me reassure everyone that I am not leaving Fimfiction anytime soon.

Mass Effect: Universal Outcasts has just been released.

It's a little late, but I managed to crank it out finally. As promised, simultaneously launched and Fanfiction.net and AO3. Links below the break.

Just saw the Detective Pikachu trailer...

And I can't tell what Jigglypuff would do if you fell asleep; scribble on or stab you.

Status Report · 3:24pm Jun 30th, 2013

I am very much alive, folks. Just been.... busy. Figure I'd take some time to give you all a status check for some of my stories.

Burn Notice is pretty much cancelled due to lack of interest on my part. I haven't really watched the show since Vaughn's season, anyways.

Queen of the Predacons is pretty much in the same boat, but I feel that I may come back to it at some point. I mean, hell, it's the series that I started out on. I'd hate to outright cancel it.

I'm actually currently working on the next chapter of Hired Gun, alternating with FoE: ODST. Problem is, school's been kicking my ass, so progress is slow, but steady.

Now, the story you're most likely awaiting news on; OtWoA. To be honest, I know where I want to go with this. We all know Twi makes it back safe and sound (relatively speaking), and I have a plot twist or two that may or may not cost me some readers. Problem is, I just haven't figured out how to get from Point A to Point B yet, so I'm stuck. I hope I can get things sorted out soon, though, and get things rolling again.

Welcome back.

I am glad.

*sigh* Yes, even about the Burn Notice thing. I kind of knew it was dead, but getting confirmation lets me forget about it.

1178535 You again? :twilightblush:

Now I understand.
You haven't figured out the mid part for OtWoA.
Well I guess I'll be a bit more patient.

I keep forgetting a lot of us are still in school (I'm assuming college, but also high-school), and I know how much time that eats up.
Keep after it; you'll figure out how to get there, and if a twist or two doesn't go over well, ... well, you can't make everyone happy. That's just not possible.
For example, I'm going to lose some readers when I kill a few characters that have become favorites, but that's how the story's going, and I can't figure out how to make it work from there if I don't.

I'm glad to see OtWoA is still alive. I've already finished Into the Black with52 chapters, but I had the vast majority of it planned out before I even started. If you want some ideas, maybe I could help you braonstorm

That post was on my phone. Thats why its messed up

Nah. I'm a subscriber to the Tao of Brown.

Nice to know you're working on it. Hope school becomes less stressful!

Thanks for the update!
Been wondering where you were……lol

Love your stuff, keep it up

looking foreward to the rest of OtWoA. i just started reading it and i'm already hooked

If I may give you some advice. This is something that Pen Stroke said at the Fanfiction Writers panel at EQLA:

Imagine your story is like a suspension bridge and the major plot points are the struts keeping the story together. Now, you will always come to a point where the bridge will start the sag a little bit because of a lack of support (ie: Point A and Point B). What you can do is move a strut closer to Point A to make the story sag less, or you can create a new plot point to do the same thing, which is not to be confused with another story element mainly because of the following metaphor:

Writing a story is like juggling, and each story element are the balls that you have to juggle. Can you juggle one ball? Two? Three? In order to keep the story balanced, you have to be able to tie back everything that happens in the story to that first ball, let's say, Tyrant Celestia. When suddenly, you introduce a second ball, let's say, Fluttershy is married to Iron Will. You cannot tie back their marriage to the first ball, so that becomes the second that you have to juggle to make the story work. Writing is nothing more than making the story work with as few balls as possible.

Wooo! Glad to hear from you, and very glad On the Wings of Angels and Hired Gun is coming back.

Hey, I remember that when he was at EQLA. Sage advice.

I wouldn't dare rush your progress on otWoA, It's quality so far is too high to risk breaking the streak :twilightblush:

Huh. I don't get notified of blog posts by you. I need to fix this.

Anyway, if you want, I'd be up to help you brainstorm and such on OtWoA; I can't promise I'll actually be able to help, but I have gotten a lot better (or at the very least, more experienced) since the last time you sent me anything. Message me on Google Chat at you leisure if you'd like.

I'm another of those people praying you don't cancel QotP. Your Alternate Movieverse series was one of the reasons I made a FiM Fiction account in the first place.

Also, finally managed to follow your, it wouldn't let me for a few months.

Hi there! I've been a follower of yours for a long time and I'd just like to offer hugs and say 'whew'. I've been on edge, hoping that OtWoA didn't join the numerous cancelled stories I've been seeing on the site. It's an excellent story and I'm really looking forward to seeing it continue. That being said, I really should look into your other stories as well; been hearing good things about FaS and QotP. Please, keep up the good work. You are appreciated, even if a lot of your watchers don't always shout it out.
