My Thoughts On Equestria Girls · 4:24am Jun 30th, 2013

When Equestria girls was first announced as an official limited release film, I was a bit skeptical about the whole premise at first. Then I saw the second trailer and thought, "Okay, maybe it won't be too bad, but I don't think I would enjoy it too much." All in all, I remained neutral on the topic until I could find the opportunity to see it myself. Earlier this morning, I finally had the opportunity to view it via pirated upload on Youtube. I was very impressed.
The film was funny, cute, creative, and it really carried the same aspects that makes FIM wonderful. Throughout the movie, they even have several references to the show, along with some nods to the Bronies. I also liked how they took the mane six and incorporated their special talents and traits into what they would be like in a high school setting. My only complaint is that I felt the romance plot between Twilight and Flash felt a little rushed and forced—though you still have to remember: there is only so much you could do in a seventy five minute movie. Overall, I think the film met—and exceeded—my expectations; I'm still very surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
Rating: 9.2/10
So, what did you all think?
I really enjoyed it, and I believe it excelled past the expectations of most bronies. My main joy though, is what peeved me off when I first heard about it was that Spike was a dog, and I thought he would be neglected or just treated unfairly. But I am very happy that Twilight actually showed care and unconditional love for Spike, especially at the ending. All in all, it was a very good movie, and it is going to be interesting going into Season 4.
