Story Status

So since I just bothered everyone, I might as well bother everyone again with a quick update...

The story I said I was writing a while ago is still being worked on and is actually coming together nicely. In fact, Ghost and Bradel just finished the pre-read. There are only one or two structural issues left then it all comes down to line editing and word choice. I've learned my lesson about promising timely delivery, but don't fret, it is happening.

The reason it's taken so long is this is that I've been learning a lot about writing and the way I write during the course of writing this. Mostly learning through mistakes, I'll admit. Anyway, it's happening.

1055800 Hm. Must develop a clever plot, perhaps even blackmail, to entrap you and PBT into pre-reading my next fic. (The Traveling Tutor and the Diplomat's Daughter - Rated G) The first one just got sent to the EqD sacrificial altar, and at 99k words, it might take them a few... months.

99k? Eee... I try to routinely send them chapter fics at around the second or third chapter, just a little past minimum word count, so they have enough to judge it on without overwhelming them. Of course, that's me. I don't have any idea how the majority of people handle things.

Though I have to say, the EqD pre-reading queue was looking pretty sparse, the last time I stopped by to check. A good time to be dropping stories their way I think. I may do so tonight (I hope it's safe to assume they'll take more than a day to look at it, 'cause it ain't gonna be pre-read before tomorrow morning in any case).
