    To Anyone Still Hoping

For all intents and purposes, I am switching all fics from hiatus to cancelled. In light of the fact university has eaten up half my time, and the rest I just can't seem to bring myself to write any more. I know everyone has already pretty much assumed that I'd stopped writing, despite my rather optimistic last blog post which I pretty much instantly failed to deliver on. Anyway, yes this account

Question to people who follow Twilight Incorporated.

Hey all, revision is still going swimmingly. Still finding myself drawn to this website though. I'm considering cutting Twilight Incorporated in half. The first three chapters are full of unnecessary fluff, and it might be better to instead have a story about the Mane six and their doppelgangers. The characters are fun to write and if I have like an alternate Discord involved it'll be awesome,

One of those blasted tag blogs that seems to be spreading like wildfire through our once safe website.

I'm not procrastinating right now. It's also not two in the morning, and the sky is a beautiful green today. :applejackconfused: Honestly surprised that I caught one of these, but what the hell. I've seen people doing this all the time on DA and Tumblr, it was only a matter of time until it hit Fimfic and, consequently, me. Honestly, a little bit of me actually wants to do this. It feels good to

    Random Story Idea Dump.

Hey folks. If you're wondering why I haven't been writing lately, it's mostly due to exams. I've got all of my exams in June, so writing time continued to dwindle as revision time continues to expand. After spending hours writing, I have a tendency to avoid extra writing, even though it is for fun. This means that I've spent time reading, watching TV and playing video games, time I'd normally

Incoming Story Ideas! Get down! Get down! They're getting ready for another run! Hit them with your feedback! · 12:28am Mar 16th, 2012

Mass Effect 3 had eaten up all the time in my week. Despite what everypony else seems to be saying, I massively enjoyed it. Yes the ending was abysmal but I'm not letting that ruin an otherwise brilliant game. Anyway, now that I've completed my Paragon playthrough, I've started my Renegade playthrough. But now that the inital excitement has worn off, I think I can pace myself much better. So I will have the next half-chapter for Halo Contact Equestria up by this time tomorrow.

Now, I've been thinking a lot lately on more story ideas. I know there's better places to air these, but I've boiled it down to three prospective options, all of which deserve a trial run:

In honour of Mass Effect I really want to do a crossover, the idea I had in mind was a geth, like Legion, crashing onto Equestria. Twilight and her friends teach the synthetic what it means to be human... er.... pony.

Next up is another crossover with an epic Sci-Fi series. In this case British favourite Red Dwarf. It wouldn't be difficult to have the Starbug strand them on the planet. Or in a more canon twist, something to do with Ace Rimmer trying to find this dimension's replacement, a pony Rimmer.

Thirdly, I really want to do something with the music ponies. I've had several scrapped ideas featuring them, but I think I've finally narrowed down a plot that I like. A new pony joins the band, a female that earns Frederics attention. Now Octavia gets a little jealous of Frederic spending all her time around her despite the fact she is already committed to Vinyl Scratch. The group are then invited as the star entertainment on a cruise liner that inevitably sinks, Titanic style.

All of these ideas I think are pretty cool, but I'd really appreciate a second opinion on them. If they honestly sound terrible to you then please tell me. I don't want to put too much energy and time into an idea doomed from the start

Oh. Perfect timing. I just finished Halo 2. Was just being bummed it was doubtful I could borrow a 360 to play it.

Trotanic sounds like it'd make a nice one-shot though.

33372 Halo 2 had the worst, most cliff hanger-est ending of all time. It was ridiculous. If you'd be willing to come all the way to merry old England, my old xboxs on the fritz, and has been replaced so now just sits there mournfully as my new sleek black console runs games first time, every time.

I am absolutely abysmal at one-shots. A self contained story in under 10,000 words? How the hell do you do it? My competition fic for Fimfic came pretty close but I still had to cut three scenes to get under the 10,000 word limit. If I ever got around to writing them I could probably expand that to 15,000 words easily. But yeah, Trotanic. Nice pun. Honestly I've had a similar idea stewing for a while but it got sidetracked by Griffon pirates and Doctor Whooves and eventually became so convoluted I dropped it. I only just rediscovered it and tore all those crazy elements back out of the original plan and it could still serve as a short story. I don't know. Current plan is write 1,000 words for each then see which don't actually suck.

33379 It did. It did indeed.
And while I would love to visit England soon, I don't think I'll be able to for an xbox. xD

33379 That's odd, I have a hard time with the exact opposite, though I'm no master at either by any stretch of the imagination.

33543 Really? I start off with these small ideas that suddenly become epics. Twilight Incorporated was planned as a one-shot, Trixie's Grand Finale was planned as a one-shot. While I'm writing the stories seem to take a life of their own, adding plot points and changing characters as they see fit. What originally starts as "Hey, why don't we have a group of ponies create a portal to Earth instead of the usual vice-versa." suddenly becomes about an alternate reality in which Equestria is a democracy and Alicorns don't exist. This leads to a rise in capitalism which allows free business to occir. From that you have the company, Twilight Incorporated, famed fro creating airships and other technological marvels. This company is headed by an alternate reality version of Twilight Sparkle named Twilight TInker. This in turn allows the funding of the scientific endeavour which chapter one concerned.

Maybe I over think things. Maybe I have a serious problem with keeping my plots linear. Either way they're fun to write so I keep trying.

I like the sound of the Titanic thing. you could get interesting/have fun with that with all the different characters and the emotions flying all over the place! Plus it would make a change from your usual dark and adventurous stuff!
As for the Red Dwarf one, I'm not sure if you would be able to do the humour like in the show. But I do like the idea of Ace Rimmer looking for his pony-counterpart.
And the Mass Effect one I can have no opinion, seeing as I haven't played the game, even after all the pestering about playing it!

33695 Well as you guessed I can't write Red-Dwarfy enough. Dropping this one definitely. Didn't even get to 1,000 words before giving up.

The Mass Effect one has come out pretty meh. I don't know, I am really into Mass Effect right now so I might try again with a different idea at some point. The geth thing didn't quite pan out.

Trotanic actually seems okay. I might pursue this one, but all this brainstorming has given me ideas for Twilight Incorporated so I think I'll crank out a chapter on that first.

Thank you everyone who commented, you know who you are... as do I. Dun-Dun-DUUUN!
