Story Appearances and Updates

I'm happy to report that Bell, Book & Candle got itself a little more exposure today, leaving my Equestria Daily batting average at 1.00 (with a paltry two at-bats). I'm expecting that to change very shortly.

"But Bradel, why would they reject one of your stories?" you ask. "Your writing is so good!"

"My writing is rubbish. Go read the people I'm following," I say. "But since you ask..."

After I published Purple Prose, my brief excursion into writing for popular effect, I got a number of comments from readers who liked the story but were disappointed at how short I'd made it. I'd never intended the thing to be a full-on clopfic, of course, but I have to admit that in hindsight, I did kind of rush through it without giving Twilight time to, shall we say, simmer. So I've been working on a rewrite, and I'm expecting that rewrite to go live later tonight. You should see it in your feed as a new chapter. The old version, and its associated comments, now resides solely on my hard drive. The changes between the old version and the section of the new version that repeats were very minimal, and I didn't see much point leaving it around for observation-of-process purposes, but if anyone wants a copy for whatever reason, feel free to PM me and I'll get it to you.

A word of warning about the new version, though: I still don't consider this anywhere near the level of a clopfic, but as a pony of our mutual acquaintance might say, the salaciousness has been doubled. Nothing explicit – actually, the overall explicitness has probably gone down – but still enough to make me add the 'Sex' tag I wrestled with on the old version.

I'm going to try tossing this one to EqD as well, since their rules only ban out-and-out explicit submissions, but I'm not expecting a whole lot from them. So I'll probably wind up going for Equestria After Dark at level 1 with this. In any case, give me a couple hours to wrap things up and smooth them over, and hopefully I can give you an enjoyable evening!
