The English Language Doesn't Make Sense · 3:28am Mar 14th, 2013

Bingo.

Such a simple word, yet it is senseless, and I'll tell you why:

We pronounce it "Bing-go", yes? Right. Well, in order for such a pronunciation to be strictly correct, there would need to be two G's. However, as you can plainly see, there are not two G's. Therefor, in order for this word to make sense, it must either be pronounced "bing-oh", or "bin-go".

But do we pronounce it that way? We do not. That would be stupid. What is stupid is that its spelling, when one thinks about it, makes no sense. A G cannot serve two purposes at once, can it? No, that would be overworking the poor G.

Main point – English Language, Y U NO MAKE SENSE?

That's how I feel about pizza. Everyone I know pronounces it "Peetsa" instead of "Peeza".
