Romancing the Clouds by my good friend KitsuneRisu.
Its very good. Very wordy too—chapter one comes in 22,000 words, and the prose is a little purple at times, but I've read worse (Looking at you, Lovecraft).
Synopsis:
It was one of those days, the kind of day you wake up and you decide to finally do that thing that’s been stuck in your head for weeks.
So.
I decided to fight all the crime in Cloudsdale.
Right.
In hindsight it might have been the sort of thing I should have spent more time preparing for.
But my best friend was mugged one day. And in the end, what else could I do? Complain? Run away? Ask the Wonderbolts for their personal assistance?
Or fight back?
Everypony told me I was crazy. Insane. Told me that I was going to lose everything.

I wasn’t thinking about it at the time, but dying wasn’t really a factor I’d considered.But then again, dying isn’t something that I’m planning on doing anytime soon.
So go read it. I heartliy enjoyed it.
