Short Grammar Rant... · 7:11pm Feb 21st, 2013
Peaked...
Peeked...
Piqued...
Why are these words so commonly mixed up? For fuck's sake, I see this grammar mistake most of all during stories I read, even among writers I consider tops.
Peaked:
Adjective
1. Having a peak
2. Gaunt and pale from illness or fatigue
Peeked:
Verb
1. Look quickly, typically in a furtive manner
2. Protrude slightly so as to be just visible.
Piqued:
Verb
1. Stimulate (interest or curiosity)
2. Feel irritated or resentful
Please...please get this right from now on before I go on a child-killing spree with hatchets.
Pic related.

Lol, don't forget the common ones too! Oddly enough, I don't think I've used any of those words yet, even with a ~52,000 word count.

How do you even mess up peaked and piqued? they aren't spelled the same at all. I'm just gonna go take a shower to wash away all this icky grammar from my body.
1053388 It may seem stupid, but it happens all the time. There's also your and you're, there, their, and they're, its and it's, and I've even seen the wrong use of time and thyme.
No clue how you mess up that last one.
